“I’ve taken 3 kickstarter sessions with Josie and have found them very useful and enjoyable. Josie is extremely knowledgeable and made me feel at ease with trying new things in the gym and talking through good goals to work towards. In particular she was great at spotting where my technique needed work and explaining how to change it in an easy to understand way.”
“A landmark public swimming facility, originally built for the 1970 Commonwealth Games and recently refurbished. Its distinctive brutalist architecture houses an Olympic-length pool and diving facilities, representing a commitment to public sport and modernist civic design in Edinburgh.”
“Love this pool, me and my children come here often, the wave pool is great and the slide is fun. I like how it slopes from shallow to deep, suitable for babies and great swimmers. Showers are good and loads changing rooms. Kids area has little play parts in the pool.”
“Nice big park. Great for the team sports and dogs.”
“Amazing venue with ton of pool tables and other games too, not to mention the the abundance of big screens for the sports did I mentions the drink & food prices are reasonable & the food is on point! Will be back for another visit!”
“Great swimming experience. Clean and Covid-safe changing environment, well managed. Nice water temperature and pool depth. Good range of lane speeds, would recommend now that we can use pools again!”
“Birthday party for 6yr old went very well. They were well entertained for and hour and a half and came away saying they had the best time ever. Two big slides were a hit as well as the small soft play - mainly the slide and ball pool. Pizza and chips for the meal was just what the kids wanted after a hard morning bouncing.”
“Free parking. Lovely pool, sauna, steam room a d gym. Friendly staff. Very clean.”
“Spotlessly clean and the staff are brilliant. So lucky to have this in upper nithsdale!”
“My favourite park in Edinburgh as it’s always deserted and great to go to just chill”
“A small car park, about 12 spot, close to the reservoir. A short walk from there and your ready to set of for a walk around the reservoir.”
“Excellent small swimming pool. Suitable for young children to swim. On site cafe with good food selection.”

“I’ve really enjoyed my experience at Village Gym Edinburgh. The yoga classes are fantastic—well-structured, calming, and always leave me feeling refreshed. A special shout-out to Natalie at reception, who is always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. She consistently makes the atmosphere even better. Highly recommend!”
“Excellent coaches, friendly inclusive club, brilliant environment for kids to learn techniques and progress to competitive swimming.”
“I’ve been going there for adult swim lessons for over a year. Thomas is the best swim coach I’ve ever had. I’ve had many lessons for the past many years but nobody can match Thomas. I came from deep trauma of being in water. Thomas has helped me progress from zero to now capable of being confident in water (not deep water yet) by myself while learning techniques to swim. I consider myself the most difficult swim student. He’s very patient, resourceful, funny and 100% great in coaching non-swimmers. Their management also gave me a trial day pass for the gym and allowed me to use their gym one other day while my usual sports centre was closed for refurbishment. I have only great things to say about them. Fully recommend the centre.”
“Went for our 4months old very first swim. The change rooms and pool were absolutely spotless and the (majority of) staff were brilliant! We asked permission to take photos as it was our first swim and we checked with the life guard and everyone in the pool- they all okayed it. When we started taking pictures we were shouted at by a supervisor who informed us that if we'd have checked with higher management they would not have allowed us to take pictures. THANKYOU to the staff that did allow us to and also told us about the swim lessons- because of you we are already booked in for lessons and will return. I really hope the supervisor reads this and takes note. You need 50p for a locker and there is space in reception to leave a buggy if you need to.”
“I joined the Joint Pain programme 6 months ago and found it very beneficial. All staff were extremely helpful. The class leader was very patient and pleasant, the physiotherapist was excellent and I appreciated the fact that he accompanied me to the gym, giving reassurance that I was doing things that would not be harmful. I found the cafe very convenient and reasonably priced. The relaxed, friendly atmosphere with Freddie and all those on duty made the whole exercise experience a pleasure and one to be continued.”
“Been a member for many years and can’t fault Nuffield Fountain Park. Excellent facilities and really friendly staff. Decent size pool, well equipped gym and regular classes. The health club is run very efficiently by management who are always responsive to any concerns / issues. Very relaxed atmosphere and always look forward to my visit. Big shout out to Manya and Leandro for your excellent customer service, friendliness and warm welcomes every time I visit. The freshly squeezed orange juice from the cafe is amazing. Keep up the good work all and well done.”
“Took one swim lesson and I would go back. Great instructor.”
“As a whole the building is a great place to stay. The rooms are very spacious and meet the standard of student accommodation. The building manage and receptionist is a great addition to the building as she is very helpful and someone you can go to with any concerns. The building also has great communal space where residents can socialise. Overall a great living experience”
“My kids started during the pandemic and they really enjoy their lessons and they love their teachers. They are keen to go and have made great progress too. We had tried other big franchise but decided to stay with Evolution even though it’s a bit of drive from where we live, as I feel the teachers are more caring and thorough. Thanks for the great learning experience!”
“Very nice and clean area lit up at night. Good for relaxing walks.”
“Unlike Charlotte Sq at the other end of George St this is very definitely open to the public and as a result feels like a vital piece of greenery in the city centre , its always busy with visitors , shoppers and office workers enjoying the open spaces and /or a coffee from the small costa shack”
“First time exploring Cammo Estate and what a lovely serene place it was. Meandering meadows and woodland walks, dotted with ruins and a wee lake. It's quite small but perfect for an afternoon exploring. Toilets were open nearby the Leaf and Bean coffee van (on a Sunday, check opening times as I think they vary). Will definitely come back!”
