“This was maybe my twenty-fifth stay in the Donegal Thatched Cottages on Cruit Island. I've always stayed in cottage number two, or when there were fourteen of us in numbers one and two. Wonderful! The cottages are clean, roomy, comfortable, well-furnished. And the view is spectacular! Out your front windows at the Atlantic, with Horn Head on the left. Out your back living room and kitchen windows at the Atlantic, the huge beach, and off in the distance a beautiful view of Errigal mountain. The beach is immense, and if you turn to the north at the island's cemetery and go to the beach, just out beyond the little island, when the tide is out, there are thousands of cockles waiting to be picked. On the far end of the island there's a golf course. A wonderful, wonderful place.”

“We got married at Brookhall last summer and had a really special day in intimate surroundings with family and close friends. This is the perfect place for a unique, personal, relaxed wedding all in one spot if you want to avoid the standard corporate hotel event. We hired the cottages for family and friends, had family dogs there throughout the day and enjoyed the beautiful gardens, lake and wildflower meadow for photos. Rosemary and Pauline were so helpful, supportive and accommodating throughout, gave us lots of suggestions and contacts from caterers and bar service providers to events decorators. Everyone commented that ours was one of the most relaxed weddings they had attended and no doubt the Brookhall team made that possible. We would definitely recommend Brookhall and will always have fond memories of Rosemary, Pauline and our special day.”

“Fantastic place to stay. Spotlessly clean and a delicious homemade breakfast. Room was spacious, warm and tastefully decorated. Gillian was warm and friendly and gave us great tips for places to eat in the village. Handy to Dublin, Belfast and Lisburn due to close proximity to the A1. 20 minute walk or 3 mins in the car to the heart of Hillsborough village. Loads of things to do and see in the village.”

“Our choice for the days we spend in Belfast, the house is beautiful, it is a 35-40 minute walk from the city center but it is an entertaining walk. The area is good and there is a shopping center nearby with different supermarkets and restaurants.”

“Peaceful and comfortable, helpful pleasant owners. Not a lot to see on the farm but a few cattle and cats, but that's fine. Blackout blinds much appreciated in the bedrooms, and they turn the bedrooms into cameras obscura!”

“My son has been attending County Cottage for a few months now and I love the home away home feeling at Country Cottage. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and always provide updates on how he is doing, and what activities he is involved in, including arts & crafts! Baby room is full of everything he needs, toys, ball pit, quiet area and access to the outside play area as well. Overall, I can't fault Country Cottage staff and management in any aspect of the care and service they provide.”

“The house is set in a stunning location with lovely views from the bedroom. We were met by the hosts Dee and John and were soon enjoying tea and delicious homemade rhubarb pie. The surrounding garden is a delight. Dinner was at a local bar with live music. The breakfast was excellent, which included fresh fruit from the garden. Definitely a five star recommendation.”

“We stayed at Four Acres Farm yesterday (05/04/23) and we had the best time. The location is breathtaking, private and having the lake right the door was beautiful. The weather wasn’t really on our side, storm Kathleen was trying her best to blow us into the lake. But the shepherds huts are so warm and Cosy with a log burner and it all adds to the experience. Outside there is a wood stove Hottub, big enough for two people and sitting in there even in the wind and watching over the lake was a real treat. Kyle is the perfect host, very communicative, send you all the info you need to know in the morning and welcomed us to come over earlier than the 3pm check in. Just wish we lived closer to take advantage of the offer. There is a lovely little mini kitchen and bathroom to the back of the hut, and it was spotless. Kyle even lit our Hottub for us so it would be ready when we arrived. We will definitely be back again and would hand on heart recommend anyone to stay.”

Varnika and Nadine were really helpful and very responsive to any queries. Very impressed by the service.”
