   The hotel has a great location, is charming and with plenty of character as well as friendly and welcoming staff. We very much appreciated the complimentary water in the room plus two glasses of champagne and the convenience of on-site parking. However, our stay was impacted by some issues. Check-in took longer than expected due to difficulty locating our booking, the bar tables were not very clean . Our room was noisy due to its location near the stairs and reception with some guests passing shouting expletives as they passed late at night as well as loud traffic outside, which affected our sleep (although we realise beyond control of the hotel!). Some sound proofing may have helped. There were also some maintenance issues in the room, including a loose bathroom door handle, a faulty radiator control, and loose tap fittings. Breakfast service was slow, and there was also some confusion over being charged despite having paid in advance. There was no enquiry at check-out about how our stay had been which would have provided opportunity for feedback at the time. We just feel that it’s these touches that make the difference to a stay and our expectations based on the rating. Overall, We did very much enjoy our time in Winchester, and the hotel has a lot of potential, but improvements in maintenance, noise management, and service consistency would make a big difference.

   Stayed in the garden suite. Clean,controllable air-conditioning and heating,comfortable bed and a fridge. It was a surprise birthday weekend and the staff kept the secret Had the Taste du Vin dinner. Great service great wine pairing and explanation amazing menu

   We didn't stay here so review is just for the restaurant. Upon entry to hotel the reception was friendly as were all the staff. The waiter especially was attentive and recommended either wines or accompliments.The menu was not large but enough to choose from. I prefer small menus anyway. The food was lovely, both had fish and cooked perfectly. I had the fish of the day which was a whole Dorade cooked with lemon, olives and fennel. Such a beautiful delicate flavour with a nice meaty fish. My partner had the biggest cod loin I've ever seen, cooked with pomegranate seeds & curried cauliflower puree - again delicious. The dining room was lovely and ambience just right. We only went here as we used The Fork 50% voucher, would we pay full price - yes without hesitation. They also had a Taste du vin menu, 6 courses with wine pairing for £69. If the quality of food is the same as our meal we had - a bargain. We are planning to visit again and try this Apologies for no photos - too excited to try our food!

   A lovely warm welcome superb clean comfy accommodation our only issue it’s on a man road and it’s loud. Would recommend asking for a room at the back next time. Restaurant was of high standard and we had a great evening meal served by a lovely lady from Lisbon. Would certainly come back. Only 4 stars as the road noise was an issue for us .

   Had a very comfortable two day stay at this small and centrally located hotel. Rooms are clean, beds comfy, and bathrooms well appointed. A good selection for breakfast with a semi buffet and a la carte dishes included. Lovely large courtyard at the back to sit outside during the summer months. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Elsa in particular at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful.

   My one night stay was perfect. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the style of the hotel was very unique and creative, and the breakfast was very delicious. For only 14 quid, I certainly took advantage of everything they had to offer, and I did not have one bad thing. Food came very quickly and the avocado toast was a 10/10. I am not a coffee drinker, but their cappuccinos made me want to start drinking coffee. The 24 hour bar is quite a nice feature and very relaxing; the drinks here were also top notch. The beds were quite comfortable, everything was clean, and, if you haven’t noticed, the rooms are an incredible deal. I would live here if I could, but unfortunately, I don’t want to live in Winchester. This was one of my favourite hotels in my 64 years of life. Cheers

   Extremely welcoming re disability plus parking and room was just perfect. Slight problem in bathroom was sorted immediately. Food was great and staff faultless in their attention to us. Would definitely recommend to friends and maybe return again one day.

   Great centre of town location and paid parking on site equals great convenience. Bistro food was good while service from the Sommelier Nick was outstanding. He made our night memorable with his knowledge and attentive service . Our garden room required an outdoor across the courtyard trip for food and drinks which is inconvenient in poor weather. The staff in this boutique feel hotel were helpful and friendly.

   The hotel itself is beautiful and great central location in Winchester. However the food we had was really really poor and when paying such a high price you really expect more. It was in the private dining room which again was a great venue but throughout the 3 course meal was hit great. Prawns were tasteless. The terrine was dry. The chicken chausseur was under seasoned. The salmon was dry. The profiteroles were tasteless. When people are saying the bread was the best thing in the meal you know it’s not great! Fortunately good service, nice venue and great company saved the night but I’d struggle to justify coming back based on the food quality! Disappointing

   Absolutely fantastic stopover in lovely accommodation. We popped in for a Coffee during a dog walk,got talking to the very friendly manager and ended up staying there the night. The hotel is so clean, our room (Geoff Merril) was spotless and simply amazing. Great location, dog friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. Will definitely be back and thank you for making our stay enjoyable.
