“We travelled from the North East on a recommendation of a relative to stay at this location as near to family, we were in Lodge 8 a 2 bedroomed lodge with a hot tub we originally booked to stay for 7days but were able to extend another 3 days as the location enabled us to spend time with family and visit various attractions. The Lodge was of a high standard a lovely welcome tray plus toiletries, towels and bedding were of a high quality a lovely interior with plenty of room the hot tub was checked every morning by a member of staff. My husband enjoyed the putting green.”

“Recently stayed here on a weekend in Winchester and would definitely recommend staying at the Wykeham Arms. All the staff were excellent and very happy to accomodate us when we asked to check in slightly early to make things easier for us. There is parking at the back of the pub, but it's best probably to get there when you can as despite our early check in we had the last spot available. The room was excellent and very comfortable to stay in with great amenities. A small complaint here, the TV in the bedroom of our stay did not support any streaming from apps or devices and did not seem to receive great signal. We'd hoped to unwind after a long day by streaming something but we had to settle for using a personal device instead. But this was only a small inconvenience and didn't disrupt our stay at all. The free guest wifi was also very welcome. Breakfast was very good with excellent options on the menu. The portion size of the full english did seem smaller than expected but nevertheless tasted very good. The best aspect of staying here was the location, a very short walk past the Cathedral into the city centre, we had plans there all day so this made it very easy to access where we wanted to be. Would certainly stay here again and recommend it to anyone else.”

“Excellent excellent excellent, no fault at all, the staff from the beginning to the end were all helpful and happy to help. We booked the hotel ( 4 adult and a child ) for 2 night. We had a faulty safety lock inside our room made a phone call it was fixed immediately. The lady behind the breakfast food counter was very friendly and willing to help, "she kept on asking do I want anything which was nice", in short all the staff were nice and friendly. The hotel it self was very clean and neat, nice gym and spa, there wifi excellent. My highlight of those 2 night for me was the bed, it was clean, smooth and soft, I think my soul left my body dancing sleeping on that bed, best feeling ever. Definitely recommending and will be going back soon”

“Had a very comfortable two day stay at this small and centrally located hotel. Rooms are clean, beds comfy, and bathrooms well appointed. A good selection for breakfast with a semi buffet and a la carte dishes included. Lovely large courtyard at the back to sit outside during the summer months. Service was very friendly and accommodating. Elsa in particular at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful.”

“I stay in a lot of hotels across the UK, and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Winchester. That said, breakfast service could be improved. While the sign asks guests to wait to be seated, I found myself waiting around 10 minutes, even as the host walked past. It felt like the host’s attention was elsewhere rather than prioritising guests (I didn’t catch his name, but this was during my stay this week). Overall, a lovely stay, but a smoother breakfast experience would make it even better.”

“Great stay tonight. Ate dinner (unexpectedly as couldn't get a cab into the city). The food was excellent, our group of 6 all enjoyed everything at a great price too. Well done Premier Inn. All the staff were excellent and friendly too, we'll come again”

“Stayed September 2025 . Best hotel for service we have ever encountered. Every member of staff were friendly, helpful, smartly turned out and polite. No request was too much trouble and all performed with a smile . They had even left balloons, birthday card ,including free drinks voucher, for my friend in our room, which was a lovely surprise for her to walk into ( thank you team) The hotel itself & rooms were very homely, yet felt quite opulent and extremely clean throughout. The bar was absolutely lovely with a wonderfully relaxed feel & led out onto the large , well maintained garden and patio area. We will definitely return to Winchester and not hesitate to book a room at this wonderful hotel again. A well deserved , all round 10/10 .”

“We had a lovely stay at the hotel. Staff were very friendly, check in was quick and easy. Room was normal - we had 2 pop up beds for the kids. Only negative comment is the mattress was too firm for us. Breakfast was lovely in the morning. Location was 15minutes away from Paultons park.”

“After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant to continue with my reservation, After deciding to make up my own mind we arrived for our 1 night spa experience. The location is nice with a well presented building and lots of parking. Our experience started well. We had a massage booked in for 10am and arrived in plenty of time. Reception guided us to the spa reception and we were welcomed with smiles and helpful staff. Things got a little shaky when we were laying down for our massage waiting when we were informed our "therapist" has been involved in a car accident and if we wouldn't mind to rearrange our treatment for later in the day, while disappointed due to us having arrived early specifically for that allocated time slot we were given a new time slot of 5 pm ,this allowed us to enjoy the facilities through the whole day while our room became available (3pm check in ) The spa despite reviews to the contrary was well kept, clean and all facilities were open. While it's not a brand new spa (others clearly want new whever they go) it was sufficient for our needs..I would suggest to the team at the hotel to get more loungers around the pool. ( A jacuzzi would be very welcomed by your guests) We were miss informed about lunch time facilities ( we were told only afternoon tea available, but that was just for the Winchester restaurant on site and not the gallery bar, staff could have informed us that the other bar served light lunches as we ended up in the local garden centre for lunch which was very nice btw. (Hotel lost out on our business for lunch) The afternoon check in was efficient and our room was lovely,Clean and stylish. Bathroom nice and clean with an elegant decor. Unfortunately the bed wasn't to my preference but everybody is different. We got our massage at the new time and was exactly what we needed. The "therapist's" did a great job and exceeded our expectations , well done ( not many can actually deliver a firm massage and get the knots out of my back). The food was lovely (evening meal and breakfast), The staff were friendly and attentive. So thank you to Botley park for a pleasant stay and well needed break.”

“Stayed November 2024.We can only say from our experience of the food we had at the restaurant it was prepaid fresh and was very flavorful. The prices for food were no more expensive than expected for a nice restaurant in a Hotel and Spa.”

“We've had 2 containers from Philspace, this 20' one was collected last week after almost 3 years. Although I celebrated it going with a glass of fizz, it has truly been a godsend being at the bottom of the garden, allowing us to empty it at our leisure. It's the most economy friendly way of storing your personal things, and all the staff are helpful and friendly. I tell everyone about Philspace who asks me about storage, and I'll always recommend them. Thank you to you all, especially the girls in account's who I've had a good chat with over the years. “Boots has been going to Hairy Poppins for 2 years now, and I would not go anywhere else. It is the perfect one stop shop offering best practice in doggy daycare and expert grooming. I am often stopped and asked where I had my dog groomed, I always tell them. Tracy and Sam are wonderful with the dogs, and I am able to drop Boots at the door literally as he cant get through it fast enough! He is a very happy pooch, and loves both Sam, Tracy and Sarah. A wonderful Professional Team with expert skills qualifications and knowledge but who genuinely really care for our fur babies. Would highly recommend Hairy Poppins to anyone with high standards and high expectations and who want a happy healthy dog.”

“Rooms - spacious, nice decor - especially the room door using the clink London prison doors, clean and under floor heating, great shower. Service - Emma is a lovely host, friendly, talkative and relaxed, she makes an amazing English Breakfast - definitely one of the best I've had. Serve yourself coffee, latte's at anytime 24/7 from their machine in the dining area (it was really good coffee too) water present to take to your room too. Location - can't really ask for much more, a 4min walk from Chesil carpark (£7.80 a day) and less than a 10min walk to the city center (10min to Nandos!), basically everything is within walking distance including Winchester Cathedral which is a 7min walk. The only place I would stay if I visited Winchester again. Definitely at least 4 star hotel worthy.”
