“Absolute slice of heaven! Such an incredible and unique house, it feels like you’re stepping back in time. Alan is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. He very kindly offered to take me and my horse for a ride with his gorgeous forest pony Smokey. We were out for hours talking away, even stopping at a pub with pens for the ponies. It was a lifelong dream come true, only made better by the pleasure of his company. We really enjoyed exploring the house, every wall has something historic to catch your eye. Going up to the observation tower is a must! Hope to be returning as soon as possible, having to leave was the only bad part. Would stay forever if I could!”

“We only booked this room as we had travelled for a gig at the local venue The Engine Room. On arrival we were made to feel most welcome by the man on the reception called Simon. He was friendly to both parties who had booked rooms. We felt that this hotel was in an excellent location . Convenient for our venue minutes walk away.walking distance to the port ,shops and ikea. We hadn't booked breakfast and were happy to use the macdonalds next door. When we returned back from the gig we decided to have a drink at the adjacent Ibis, at Simon's suggestion . We were also welcomed there. For the price we paid this was excellent value and the parking is included so no need to pay in advance. Thanks for a great stay.”

“It doesn’t get much better than Gambledown Farm! We hosted our wedding weekend here and it was truly perfect. Tamara and her team were incredibly welcoming and supportive every step of the way. Having all of our friends and family stay on site made the whole experience even more special. From the very first planning stages through to after the wedding, Tamara went above and beyond - we couldn’t recommend Gambledown more, whether for a wedding or even a cosy staycation. The grounds are immaculate, beautifully green, and set against stunning countryside with plenty of charming farm animals. If we could do it all over again, we absolutely would!”

“A lovely place to stay. It’s opposite a pub that does great Indian food. Host Helen looked after us and shared some great local knowledge and gave us a good walk to do in the New Forest from the guesthouse. Great breakfast, clean and friendly. Highly recommend.”

“We travelled from the North East on a recommendation of a relative to stay at this location as near to family, we were in Lodge 8 a 2 bedroomed lodge with a hot tub we originally booked to stay for 7days but were able to extend another 3 days as the location enabled us to spend time with family and visit various attractions. The Lodge was of a high standard a lovely welcome tray plus toiletries, towels and bedding were of a high quality a lovely interior with plenty of room the hot tub was checked every morning by a member of staff. My husband enjoyed the putting green.”

“Stayed for 2 nights and loved it, extremely clean and comfortable and the hosts were very welcoming and helpful, had full English breakfast which was perfectly cooked and kept us going all day, will definitely stay again when down that part of the country”

“This campsite is immaculate,washing and drying facilities, you can buy tokens from the little shop on site and other supplies you may of missed,great showers, delicious food vans come in regularly, no ponies inside but a few minutes walk off site and they are everywhere”

“We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely friendly pub, the staff were very helpful and the room was spotless and spacious. We had a lovely meal in the evening and breakfast was delicious too, would definitely stay again!”

“I popped into their cafe as the rains opened up. Picnic table inside a shed. Great idea. I had a generous gluten free bacon sandwich and tea in the dry. I recommend here.”

“Rooms - spacious, nice decor - especially the room door using the clink London prison doors, clean and under floor heating, great shower. Service - Emma is a lovely host, friendly, talkative and relaxed, she makes an amazing English Breakfast - definitely one of the best I've had. Serve yourself coffee, latte's at anytime 24/7 from their machine in the dining area (it was really good coffee too) water present to take to your room too. Location - can't really ask for much more, a 4min walk from Chesil carpark (£7.80 a day) and less than a 10min walk to the city center (10min to Nandos!), basically everything is within walking distance including Winchester Cathedral which is a 7min walk. The only place I would stay if I visited Winchester again. Definitely at least 4 star hotel worthy.”

“What a delightful experience - everything was perfect. Such a warm welcome from the staff from the time we arrived until we left. We stayed in the Sycamore Room which was sumptuous and so comfortable and had everything we needed. We dined at The Avenue and the tasting menu was superb. The level of service throughout was amazing.”

“Lovely little campsite, with great facilities. Shower were strong and hot. Its by a small railway, which runs regular steam rally. We thought it would be a bit noisy, but it was a fantastic addition to the camping experience. We also had our 1 year old baby and she wasn't bothered by the trains at all. Surrounded by beautiful countryside.”

“A lovely guesthouse just outside of Southampton. It was easy to locate, there was plenty of parking, and the host was very welcoming and friendly. The bed was comfortable, the room was a good temperature, and the breakfast in the morning was top-notch! Highly recommended!”

“This may possibly be my new favourite place to eat. Cosy atmosphere , great service. ( sat in the snug ) The home made soup was beautiful. Roast dinner was one of the best I’ve had. The pie was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be returning.”

“Amazing food in a beautiful setting. We shared the beef and it was melt in your mouth. The new forest raspberry cheesecake was incredibly fluffy and light too. Non alcoholic drink selection very good - Spicy Marg was very good. Would definitely visit again. Was such a treat and the hotel and grounds are stunning”

“Great old pub in one of the nicest villages in the area. There are ancient barrows, a Norman church and great walks nearby. The staff at the pub love dogs - they even have a hosepipe if your pooch is very muddy. Food and service has always been great - it's a perfect place to stop for lunch after a good walk.”

“Traditional village pub. Staff are very friendly. Food is amazing & good value. They do an amazing roast dinner on a Monday night. Ate here every night of our 4 night stay in the area, there was no need to hunt for another place to eat! Varied menu with daily specials, brilliant!”

“We had a lovely stay tenting at Long Meadow campsite. It was clean and tidy, especially the toilet facilities that surpassed anything I've ever experienced before. The water was really hot fur washing dishes. The campsite was level and flat, peaceful and picturesque with fallow deer walking around our tent through the night. The staff were helpful and friendly. We'll definitively be coming back.”

“Recently stayed here on a weekend in Winchester and would definitely recommend staying at the Wykeham Arms. All the staff were excellent and very happy to accomodate us when we asked to check in slightly early to make things easier for us. There is parking at the back of the pub, but it's best probably to get there when you can as despite our early check in we had the last spot available. The room was excellent and very comfortable to stay in with great amenities. A small complaint here, the TV in the bedroom of our stay did not support any streaming from apps or devices and did not seem to receive great signal. We'd hoped to unwind after a long day by streaming something but we had to settle for using a personal device instead. But this was only a small inconvenience and didn't disrupt our stay at all. The free guest wifi was also very welcome. Breakfast was very good with excellent options on the menu. The portion size of the full english did seem smaller than expected but nevertheless tasted very good. The best aspect of staying here was the location, a very short walk past the Cathedral into the city centre, we had plans there all day so this made it very easy to access where we wanted to be. Would certainly stay here again and recommend it to anyone else.”

“Beautiful location on the River Hamble. Huge marina of fantastic yachts and boats of all sizes. Great bar with outside veranda space to sit and watch the boats coming and going. Its a private club, so membership is required for entrance.”

“We loved our stay here in March 2020. The hosts were very friendly and warm, the rooms were nice and clean, wi-fi was fast, showers had hot water, and breakfast was as expected. We would stay again next time we are in the New Forest.”

“We could not recommend Tina and Nic’s place more, we had an absolutely perfect stay. Firstly, Tina offered to pick us up from the train station since it was supposed to rain when we arrived, and when we made it to her place she greeted us with a fresh cup of tea. The place is immaculate yet so cosy, and our room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and big clawfoot bathtub! We could see some of the New Forest wild horses from our window, and Tina and Nic had even provided chocolate bunnies as we were there over Easter. The place is perfectly situated, as if you turn right you can walk straight into the forest, and if you turn left you can easily get to the main street in less than 10 mins. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and fresh, and Tina even has wellies, rain coats, etc. so that you are prepared for any sort of weather. She was also able to help recommend some hikes and walks so that we could get the most out of our weekend. We will absolutely be back!”
