We had a really lovely stay at the Thatched Cottage. Tina and Nic were very kind and welcoming hosts who made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We were welcomed with a cup of tea upon arrival and Tina was very helpful in discussing where we could go for walks in the area and advising on places to eat. The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean and very comfortable. The cottage is very well situated for the nearby high street and with beautiful walking trails from the front door. We are already excited to come back in the near future!

I spent a lovely week in Brockenhurst and stayed at the Thatched cottage b&b in Charleston. The room was perfect, bed comfy and bathroom clean. The summer afternoon sun made the room a bit warm, but the electric fan and open windows did the trick. Tina is a wonderful host, made us feel welcome and introduced us to her two sweet dogs. The fresh croissants and fruit for breakfast were just what we needed before starting on the New Forest trails. Regarding the location, I think this is an ideal base for hiking and exploration on foot - no need to drive to begin your walk. The cottage is surrounded by the forest so you can enjoy the birdsong in the early morning and owl calling in the evening. The ponies neighing throughout the day is just a cherry on top.

We've just come back from an absolutely first rate stay at the Cottage. Within about 5 minutes of arriving, we were already planning on coming back next year. We had bed and breakfast and paddock facilities for the horse, which worked out brilliantly. Tina was a mine of information for hacking options from the cottage for Katy and Roxy, the room was absolutely perfect and the breakfast ideal. We only needed the horse box to get her to the cottage, once there we had instant access to wonderful New Forest countryside. Roxy had a decent-sized paddock to herself with a stable and plenty of water all ready to go and she had a nice view over the fence at the path and the ponies that came and went. Tina couldn't have been more welcoming and provided everything we needed and more. The whole setup was an instant hit and we're already thinking about dates for next summer.

We could not recommend Tina and Nic’s place more, we had an absolutely perfect stay. Firstly, Tina offered to pick us up from the train station since it was supposed to rain when we arrived, and when we made it to her place she greeted us with a fresh cup of tea. The place is immaculate yet so cosy, and our room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and big clawfoot bathtub! We could see some of the New Forest wild horses from our window, and Tina and Nic had even provided chocolate bunnies as we were there over Easter. The place is perfectly situated, as if you turn right you can walk straight into the forest, and if you turn left you can easily get to the main street in less than 10 mins. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and fresh, and Tina even has wellies, rain coats, etc. so that you are prepared for any sort of weather. She was also able to help recommend some hikes and walks so that we could get the most out of our weekend. We will absolutely be back!
