Another excellent Sunday lunch here. We were a group of 7 people and the service and food were first rate. More pubs like this please!

The food was competitively priced and all the trimmings came with the meal. eg did not have to pay extra for cauliflower cheese etc. The belly pork was exceptional.

Great old pub in one of the nicest villages in the area. There are ancient barrows, a Norman church and great walks nearby. The staff at the pub love dogs - they even have a hosepipe if your pooch is very muddy. Food and service has always been great - it's a perfect place to stop for lunch after a good walk.

Awful experience. I was shocked. The local reputation of having "grumpy" service is generous. Downright hateful and rude. The room couldn't even be considered charming. Maybe rustic at best. Peeling wall paper. Gross carpeting. The smallest sink in a bathroom I've ever seen. Paper thin walls. The housekeepers blared music when cleaning rooms so we were subjected to loud radio personalities in the morning. Huffy response when politely asked to lower the volume. On checkout day at 10:59 am the loudest knock on the door with the rudest man screaming to leave. At 11:10 threats and yelling again. In all the places I've stayed across the world of all types and styles I've never been treated so horrifically. Stay away.

For the second time I have attended this pub, on neither occasion have I been impressed. Although the food was good the first time I had to suffer the poor attitude and lack of enthusiasm from the landlord. It's a shame it really is as it's the type of pub I would love to enjoy. This time we didn't eat as we arrivedbefore 14:00hrs their advertised food service time to be told "foods off we stop at 14:00hrs...... Only problem was it was 13:50 denied food service then the staff moaned when the kids made noise in an empty pub...... Most odd. They do have a fantastic location and could do with a publican who values trade. I think the only reason they are still open is they have a captive audience

Had lunch here on Sunday……lovely food, great service, friendly and welcoming! The dog was allowed which is always a plus. My husband would have liked a guest beer. Wish we had a local pub like this!

Been meaning to visit this pub for many years on our travels. Finally made it today and wished we had done so earlier. Met with a warm welcome, great food all set in a lovely building and Village. You really should give this place a try when you are in the vicinity.

Last night's Christmas Turkey was absolute perfection. Everything on the plate was mouthwatering, beautifully cooked and presented. Friendly service, warm and welcoming.

So glad I came here. Lovely location, great country pub with good atmosphere. Food. What can I say. Bravo chef. I had pork belly and the different tastes that you produced was complimentary to each other. A riot of taste. Thanks
