We came for xmas and it was great staff food everything was great apart from xmas dinner. We did not get one. You booked in to many outsiders which resulted in massive queues for about 1 and half hours and that was awful a few of us did not get our xmas dinner. This certainly needs looking into for the future

I don’t understand how this hotel has such a low rating. I’ve stayed in hotels all over England for business travel and this is one of the best ones I’ve ever stayed in. It feels more like a four star and it cost £69 for a double! The rooms are spacious, with good desk space and a sofa. The bathrooms are clean and the shower is good. The lobby is huge with chesterfield style leather sofas everywhere. The bar/restaurant has a decent selection. The staff were friendly. I stayed here because my flight was cancelled, but if that happens again, this is where I’m staying.

We had fairly decent sleeps for the two nights of our stay, which was the main point, but oh my days it was a poor experience. We can kind of see that for one night on your way to the airport, it would be ok, but don't book a romantic weekend or holiday here!! Booking and cost: we got a discount so paid £75 per night. Plus £5 parking which we'd missed mention of on the website. Turns out WiFi is £7 per night too. We declined that. The website said we had a refundable booking but the receipt said non-refundable; customer service by email couldn't confirm which was right. The room: spacious but in need of updating. Radiator barely worked; reception gave us a replacement electric heater that barely worked. The sofa was really uncomfortable, the TV hard to control, the windows were dirty and one of the light shades was horribly stained. Noise from the corridor and other rooms was occasionally a problem. The bed: main feature here was that it was only a double (which hotels still use doubles these days?) and it was mediumly soft so that when one of you moved, you both moved. The bathroom: small, cramped and outdated. Lots of mould. Some of the tiles had been painted. Shaver charging point didn't seem to be working. No replacement loo roll (we ran out!) or tissues (we ran out!)

What an awful experience to start our holiday. When we checked in, we were told that although the evening meal we had booked and prepaid for was due to start from 6.30pm until 8.30 pm, they had 2 coaches in that evening so we couldn’t go until 7. We went to the restaurant at 7 and were told that we had to wait until 7.45 as the people from the coaches were still eating! When we did finally get into the restaurant, there was hardly any food left and what was there was dried up. I had pork and apple sauce, 3 tiny pieces of pork but no apple sauce as I was told that there was none left! I had some roast potatoes, but struggled to cut them as they were so dried out,so ended up with a bread roll instead as that was at least edible. I went to bed with my tummy rumbling and feeling hungry. The staff didn’t seem to be bothered when I mentioned the lack of food and just shrugged. I got the impression that this hotel is only interested in coach party guests. Our room was disgraceful and I hardly slept. We couldn’t see out of the windows, they were so dirty and there was actually mould on the walls round the windows. I have never been so glad to leave a hotel and was glad that we were leaving at 3.30am to go to the airport. We were considering booking to stay before our holiday in February, but no way would I return here!

This hotel is undoubtedly handy for the airport, but that is the main positive. It’s outdated. The rooms are dated, damaged but passable for a one night stay. The check in took ages, initially queuing out of the main door. Seemingly no reason for this beyond shortage staff. The extra £5 for overnight parking is annoying and I wasn’t aware of it when booking. The beds aren’t terrible but you’re only provided with one small pillow. Overall not a great experience, but again, very handy for the airport which is why it will continue to be used.

Holiday break stay. Hotel quite modern, quiet (no aeroplane or traffic noise) considering location; pleasantly warm in room in March visit considering heating costs and quite low temperature outside; staff attentive and helpful; food reasonably good with fair selection (wife did not like vegetarian selection which was not really good) but very good breakfasts with great mushrooms with full English breakfast; clean and tidy (however room not cleaned or beds made during 4 day stay. This we were informed on card with small print due to government COVID restrictions still in force, was a little surprising). However did not spoil our visit. Overall pleased as had stayed at another Britannia hotel in Blackpool which was a bad experience so was apprehensive.

Check in was seamless and sadly that's where the positives end. The hotel has seen better days and clearly lacks investment. The restaurant was forgettable and the bar area dreary. Our room was very tired and the bathroom was in pieces with tiles falling off and mould around the bath. Cleaning didn't appear to be high on the agenda. It was barely ok for the price, but handy for the airport.

We spent a lovely weekend here. A perfect venue for walking in the Dales. The room was really good with a superb view over hills and a garden full of snowdrops. The super pool and spa is an excellent bonus . All the staff were super friendly. My vegetarian breakfast was excellent... eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans, and hash browns all perfectly cooked.. We will be back!

When we arrived we were met by a pleasant gentleman who told us to add our reg number and that there was a £5 charge for parking. We were given our cards for our rooms which did not work , back to reception for different cards which did allow us into our rooms . The rooms were pleasant, but tired, beds comfortable, however the location of the TV makes it impossible to watch from the bed . We had drinks at the bar which were reasonably priced . We did not eat in the restaurant as we had booked the Fox and Hounds for food , 5 minute walk.(very nice!) We did not eat breakfast as no vegetarian option available ( the first hotel that we have stayed in that does not cater breakfast for vegetarians!) We hopped in the car and drove 4 miles to premier inn and had breakfast there. Very nice! We would not stay here again .
