FANTASTIC We stayed for one night for a birthday celebration. On arrival we were welcomed by the lovely reception staff , we had an early check in at 1pm, the room was ready even though it was 12:30pm. We had booked a Dales room and it was lovely, large room overlooking the lake. The bed was massive and very comfortable. We had booked the Spa which was very nice, and not too busy. The infinity jacuzzis were nice and warm. The saunas were great but I thought the pool was on the cool side but my wife had a swim, maybe I’m a wimp! We had an evening meal and we both opted for the festive menu and it was delicious. The bar was cozy and we even met the owner, Mr Bannister, who was a real gentleman. After a great nights sleep we headed for breakfast, which was just as nice as the evening meal, with plenty of choice. All the staff we encounter we polite and friendly. Would definitely recommend, and hopefully we will return and I would love to try the Clay shooting.

My family and I stayed at the Coniston Hotel last week and a night before our checkout we had an unfortunate car accident. We returned to the hotel by taxi that evening feeling quite shaken, and the kindness and care shown by the staff made all the difference. They were genuinely sympathetic to our situation, immediately reassuring us that we didn’t need to worry about our 11 a.m. checkout and could stay as long as needed until our friend arrived to pick us up from London. The next morning at breakfast, the reception and restaurant staff were just as warm and caring. They made sure we were comfortable and even offered us complimentary access to the spa after breakfast so we could relax and recover. The spa team were equally wonderful, attentive, kind, and thoughtful, checking in on us several times and even offering us drinks on the house. That level of genuine hospitality and empathy is rare these days, and it truly helped us through a difficult moment and all of us are so grateful to the wonderful staff. This was our second stay at the Coniston Hotel, and we are so glad we chose to return. Everyone went above and beyond, and we left feeling deeply grateful and cared for. We will definitely be returning again.

I had booked this hotel for one night stay to eventually going to Broughton Hall for a week. This hotel is beautiful and the grounds out of this world. Some of the staff were very accommodating, friendly and professional, but one server not so much. I felt like she was annoyed when I asked if I could get a cup of hot tea with some pastry or something light to eat because I had just flown from the States and the weather was pretty horrible (heavy rain with strong winds). She told me that the kitchen was closed and they were not serving any food at this time. However another couple walked in and requested the same thing, except they had a different server and she did serve them hot tea and toast. I did get my tea, but without food. Then 10 days prior, I had requested if I could get an earlier check in because I got to the hotel around 10:30 and wanted to get a nap, shower, etc. They told me I had to pay extra for earlier check in which would be around 1:00 anyway. I have to say that the front desk ladies were amazing and extremely accommodating, but my room got ready at 2:30. The front doors were not functioning properly due to the storm and I had to walk around and outside with my bags getting wet. Anyway, it is no big deal but it is the little things that matter in the overall picture. I loved the food there and the service was top notch.

Came to the hotel for lunch. The steak and chips were superb. They catered for my friend who is a coeliac as my friend described. I had the mushroom soup and the pork scratchings with homemade apple sauce, both were perfect. The staff were extremely helpful, professional and friendly. Although it was my first visit they made it feel like I was a regular with there warmth. If I lived local I would come here often.

We've just had a fantastic, overnight stay. The Spa session on the Sunday afternoon, and the Land Rover driving Experience on the Monday. Lovely Hotel. Beautiful meals, evening and breakfast, and a quality 'Upgraded' bedroom. Lovely Staff and location.

This place is utter bliss! We've been here twice now and it's amazing. The rooms are lovely with the best beds we've slept in, the staff are very attentive and helpful, the food both for dinner and breakfast is divine and the spa leaves you feeling relaxed and refreshed. We've found our new favorite getaway spot.

We recently stayed the weekend at the hotel and what a beautiful place it is. The hotel and facilities are fantastic, along with the food and selection of drinks. The spa is possibly one of the best I have visited, however what stood out above all else was the staff. Friendly, polite and welcoming, from our arrival with Melanie at the front desk, to the girls providing treatments in the spa, the young lad providing drinks to us at the outside hot tubs and the staff behind the bar in the evenings, we felt relaxed from the moment we stepped through the doors. I would highly recommend, and we will definitely visit again.

I didn't stay in the hotel - I just came for a spa day, and I loved every minute of it! I had a back massage, followed by a delicious lunch (the best afternoon tea I've ever had - Japanese style) and time in spa. My favourite was sitting in a jacuzzi outside and looking at the fire.

We booked a meal at Blossoms, the 'afternoon tea' , which was a really nice sounding Asian mix, when we arrived we were told the menu was changed two days before and even though the hotel emailed to ask us to confirm the booking they never mentioned the change. We has to cancel the tea and have the main menu, which was nice but not the same and very expensive. Needless to say we won't be back after such disappointing service.
