   Door man was giving me and my mate castle at the door, but on of the bar staff was there and was being a legend. Same lad got the Scotland game put on for us again after someone turned it off. Quality staff and a great night. Will be back thanks to the lad with the ponytail

   I think it was Shakespeare that said “the merchant of Venice is a lovely guy.” Similar to Shakespeare, I also have positive feelings towards the merchant, albeit that on Woodhouse lane instead of Sunny veneto. Such wonders can be had at this establishment. Cold beer flows from the fountains like golden elixir of the Greek Pantheon. An unfathomably large collection of ales, lagers and stouts line the bar like trophies. Nectar. The staff wise and welcoming, emma in particular possessing kindness comparable to Mother Theresa, aiding every question I had regarding the splendid selection. I didn’t have the food but the aromas brought me back to my mother’s kitchen when I was but a child with a scraped knee. Ratatouille. I’d recommend any to organise pilgrimage to this holy establishment at once and fraternise among the good patrons. There’s only one place I’d want to spend my nights, and that’s the warm embrace of The merchant. #Beer

   I think this a great place to for a drink, But a Night out is rather annoying especially when they don't have the dance floor anymore. Need to move the pool tables and allow people to dance. Trying to walk through a pathway of people dancing is is so infuriating and frustrating...

   5 stars to all the staff cheap drinks cheap food great! Booths with tv Pool Small outdoor area -3 stars to luci (i think, high black bun glasses and hoops) beacuse after i ordered 2 of the same cocktail said ugh and pulled the most annoyed face and body in an extremely performative way then said " i litterally just put the stuff away" under her breath (then took 25 mins to start making it but i really dont care about waiting times so not counting that)

   This place is the best for pub food and a quick pint. Also great for the football as they have so many screens to be viewed from All angles . Also the staff are great and went out of there way to improve our experience . Definitely recommend

   Stopped here for a couple of drinks and some food after reading the reviews on here and before going to see a show. Food was ok, drink was good although getting served a coke from a flat bottle of non-branded bottle under the counter left something to be desired when getting charged full price. Atmosphere was good for around 6pm on a Friday. Would I go back.... Yes.... Would I eat here again... Yes.... Price for food an alcohol was good for the city centre.
