The Stag hosted 40 of us on a Friday evening. The staff were brilliant and did a fantastic job of getting the (pre-ordered) food out to everyone efficiently. We ordered from the regular menu and the food was delicious and great value. Would totally recommend for a group gathering. Thanks to the team for being great hosts and the kitchen for getting all the food out at once!

Absolutely shocking experience last night! We had booked for 18 family members to dine at the pub, including ones flown in from Ireland and the USA, to celebrate our fatherβs 89 birthday. We had all pre-ordered and given a colour coded spreadsheet of all of our menu choices. On arriving at the pub we were extremely disappointed to see that the conservatory we had booked had not even been set up as we had requested, resulting in us doing it ourselves. All sat down waiting for our meals, an hour later we had to ask why we were waiting so long, eventually a couple of meals arrived, unfortunately these included still frozen chips!! Over the next 2 hours the meals came out in various intervals and unfortunately most were very substandard, the steak which a few of our party ordered was inedible! The pub was practically empty so we cannot understand why we had to wait over 2 hours for all of our pre ordered meals to arrive! We tried to speak to various members of staff but in all honesty no one seemed particularly bothered and at no point did we receive an apology. The experience totally ruined our fatherβs birthday and we were all extremely upset and angry. We came back to The Stag as we had held his birthday here the previous year and had a great time, unfortunately this year was a total shambles, the food was below average and staff, apart from one young waitress were totally unprofessional. We will not be returning. Sort yourselves out!

A great little pub in Chorleywood, with a cute snug garden. Staff are friendly and there's a relaxed atmosphere. We visited on a summer day on Sunday, and were surprised how not-busy it was. It did start to get busy indoors. There's a big green-house space that can be hired out for parties - as there was one going on, hence the assumption that you can hire it. The prices are def on the higher side, with a beer more than a sixer. Great selection though for gins! Food too is good (we had nachos and chicken thighs), and they try their best to accommodate any requests. Not too many tables outside, but sufficient for a not so busy afternoon. The inside is inviting and there's sufficient parking.

From the atmosphere, to the service and staff everything was nothing short of amazing. All the food was absolutelly amazing but the Korean fried chicken burger was the star of the show. The burger was an explosion of flavors and textures. The crispy chicken was coated in a sweet and spicy sauce topped with crunchy slaw and creamy mayo, it was one of the best burgers I had in years. Compliments to everyone. I will definitely be back.

My family and I visited the Stag after Christmas. The building is lovely with a great conservatory at the back. The food was very tasty. I wish I had asked what dressing they put on the salad because it was amazing! The guy working that day was on his own and despite this he was cheerful, efficient and helpful. He was run off his feet, poor man, but did a brilliant job. Would definitely visit again and would recommend this to others.

We arrived on a busy Sunday lunchtime, weβve had our fair share of disappointing pub roasts and this had all the hallmarks of it. A packed bar, only one member of staffβ¦. We couldnβt have been more wrong, Anya was amazing, sheβs managed the busy bar, got us seated and served and we had a fabulous roast. Weβll be back.

Just had the steak and ale pie with seasonal vegetables. The vegetables were French beans.carrots and red cabbage which was the best Iβve had for very long time. I would visit again. My apologies I didnβt take any images, was to engrossed in eating the meal.

To be fair, I didnβt have dinner there just two drinks so the stars may be more or less with a meal. However, the pub looks great. The price of the drinks and chips are the same as what you would find in west London.

Many years ago I used to work in the kitchens here. So todays trip back was like a nice walk down memory lane. Not much had changed, friendly staff, reasonably priced drinks. Good parking spaces. Food was always good here. Chilled out atmosphere. Very welcoming to families. I highly recommend visiting the place! The Stag, for me, is what a good country pub should be. Relaxed, friendly, a home away from home.
