   We had a roast on Sunday and it was absolutely amazing. Both the food and the service were incredible, everything arrived perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The atmosphere was warm and cosy, with the fires lit, making it the perfect place to spend a winter Sunday. A really lovely experience.

   I visited The Old Shepherd for the first time on Saturday evening and was very impressed with everything about it. The decor and lighting help to create a great atmosphere along with the helpful and friendly staff and welcoming locals. The quality, portion size and value of the food was outstanding, I ordered a veggie burger which was the best i've ever been served in a pub and the fries were delicious too. I'm told there's live music now on most Saturdays and the artist playing was of a very high standard. Highly recommended venue worth travelling to.

   A real gem under new management. This pub has been beautifully refitted and now feels genuinely gorgeous - homely, boutique-style, and very much a home from home. The atmosphere is welcoming without trying too hard, and you instantly want to settle in and stay awhile. The food is outstanding. The care and thought that goes into it really shows, especially the Sunday roasts - easily the best I’ve ever had. Each element is considered, with diverse flavours and textures that work together like a fine wine. Properly special food in a truly lovely setting. Highly recommended - if you want a roast book in advance as word Is out about how great it is :) Dogs Welcome

   It's a busy pub for weekends. Unfortunately for us the Sunday Roast crowds meant no food left for stray walk ins like us. So while the beers were good and atmosphere was nice, we had the good looks and smell around, we had to stay hungry. Nice looking pub though and seems a local favourite for food. Maybe next time we get to experience it better.

   Revised review as the Old Shepherd is under the new management Max and Natalie. Much improved amenities throughout. The pub now serves proper well kept beer. Food is good, especially the Sunday roast although not cheap. Pub has a warm welcoming feel. Staff and the new owners are very friendly, always around for a chat. Outside garden has been updated with plants, potted trees, plenty of benches and has been tided up. Good luck to Max and Natalie in making a success of the pub

   Agreed to meet a friend at this pub on a wet Saturday afternoon. It was quiet when I arrived but steadily built throughout the afternoon. Staff were friendly and modest range of good beers at standard prices. No blaring music was a plus for me although I did notice that pub quizzes and live music nights take place. I would certainly go there again and happy to recommend.

   The beef burger I had was great! It came with a very nice dill sauce, the flavors were really well balanced. The fries were nice, salty and crisp, just the way they should be. And the coleslaw surprised me with some black sesame seeds and herbs, to give it more taste. The staff was welcoming and nice. Overall a very nice experience, a place I would recommend.

   Lovely old pub with a nice cosy atmosphere. Good beers such as Rebellion. Did the monthly Monday night quiz which was well attended and good fun.
