   We visited The White Lion yesterday as a group of 30, and it was a brilliant experience from start to finish. The food was delicious, with excellent options for everyone – including superb vegetarian Indian dishes, which were a real highlight. The service was flawless throughout; the staff were organised, attentive and incredibly welcoming, even with such a large group. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal together. Highly recommended, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

   I visit Amersham regularly with work & had always wanted to try this pub out. I ordered the Steak & Caramelised Onion Sandwich. It was a nice Sandwich however my only criticism is that the bread had been shown a toaster. So it wasn't really toasted it was in between. That is the only fault I found. Hence the 4 stars for the food. The service was great & the man that served me was very polite. The pub itself was immaculate & the outdoor seating area was lovely & well looked after. Excellent size car park & I will definitely return.

   I had the 1/2 tandoori chicken and masala chips about 6 months ago and was pleasantly surprised. Really good flavoursome masala chips and well marinated chicken. (The photo with the chicken shows my previous really good experience). Today I had the same dish and was surprisingly disappointed. I’m not sure what has happened but I have heard the chef has changed. My chips were fatter, under cooked and lacked flavour, were not crispy at all. A couple chips had that frozen chip flavour which hadn’t been cooked through. Chicken was not well marinated. Seemed like the marinade was slapped on just before I collected the food. Parts of the chicken were cold too. It would be good to see this place back to where it was because it was genuinely good.

   So we tried the new (mainly Indian) menu last night - pretty good! Starters : Lamb chops, Shell-on prawns Mains: Chicken Tikka Makhni, Cheese and Herb Crusted Cod, and Fish & Chips All the meals went down really well. Chicken curry nicely spiced, crusted cod was not overcooked, and the chips were excellent!

   I like the White Lion, but yesterday it was a full football evening plus a very big quiz night, and there appeared to be two front of house staff and a last minute agency chef. They all did a really good job, an excellent job (and the food was good!) but there just weren’t enough of them - management needs to do a better job of resourcing this pub at busy times.

   Really clean and tidy pub which seems to have more ante character the more you look! Great variety on menu I tried the beef prop and smoked bacon lasagne and genuinely think it’s best lasagne i’ve ever had, served on sizzling skillet, superb! Great pub for food and service!

   Great pub, however food is average at best. Pub itself is a great size, good location, big carpark, good bathrooms, baby changing facilities and has regular events (quizzes, football etc...) Beer, wine and drink selection is decent Food is really hit an miss, Sunday roast is great, however I had the hunters chicken recently which slathered in too much sauce, came with 9 chips (9!!!!) And the peas were rock solid. Kids food is good value and comes with free ice cream

   Enjoyed a relaxed Friday evening drink with my partner. Staff are friendly and efficient. We didn't order mains, that will for another visit with kids, but the snacks were nice. We tried something new for a dessert and absolutely loved it!!
