   What a wonderful group Christmas meal we have just had. The food was generous and delicious. The printing of nameplates with food choice of each guest was genius. Festive decorations and crackers to pull made the atmosphere lovely and christmassy. Being able to pay with cash also helped for those without bank accounts!

   I really wouldn’t recommend coming here for food. I ordered the fish and chips - the curry sauce tasted like butternut squash soup. My two friends had the flat iron steak and the meat was super chewy. The staff are friendly but it took ages to get our drinks and ages to get the food too. I think it’s fine for drinks (although not cheap) but definitely would not recommend if you want to eat !

   My wife and I came to The Grove for Sunday lunch having just moved to the area. We hadn’t booked but we’re able to get a table seated outside. We ordered two pints of lemonade, which took around 15 minutes to arrive. We ordered our food. We waited, waited and waited….until the waiter who had taken our order 45 minutes earlier, asked if we would like to see the desert menu! We told him our Sunday lunch still hadn’t arrived…… We noticed that at least 4 other tables sat nearby had sat down and ordered food after us but who’s food had already arrived. When our food did finally turn up, it was okay. My wife had the roast pork and her plate was reasonably full. I had the roast beef which was at best average and the three roast potatoes and half a carrot and cabbage I got seemed a bit on the stingy side….we didn’t stay for desert nor were we offered anything by way of an apology….not even a coffee…nothing. Just a “sorry we are busy” For near enough £20 a plate….I expect better. I leave one star as the few staff that were running the restaurant were nice and polite enough…just clearly needed to employ more of them

   Went to celebrate Mother's day. The food was excellent (Vegan Wellington, fish n chips, vegan burger). The service was good considering how busy it was in there. Staff were always happy to help when flagged down. The pub is nice but the outside area really surprised me - it is very well designed and large enough to probably double the number of customers if needed!

   The best spot in Surbiton for a delicious pub lunch! The beer garden is amazing, the staff are so helpful and I also spotted a huge outdoor screen with Sky sports on. Would recommend a visit - I'll be back!
