“I ordered a set breakfast here, they were happy to substitute mushrooms for beans; it arrived quickly and was well cooked and a generous size. The service was good, the only sad thing was that the place was empty apart from me. Recommend this place if you want a good, honest breakfast, the rest of the menu looks pretty extensive too.”
“Iv been wanting to come here for a long time and each time something has came up. I went there with my wife and I had pie and mash as I'm originally from east London and it did not disappoint. My wife had egg on toast and the lady ask how she wanted it and made it perfectly. I will definitely be going back.”
“Charming restaurant less than 5 mins from Surbiton Rail station and opposite Sainsbury’s. The old Post Office building has been repurposed as a restaurant, fitted out in a sustainable way with genuine Turkish designs and materials. My server had a Masters in restaurant design so was knowledgeable and happy to point out some of the features. The coffee was excellent and the Nutella and sea-salt cookie was something I’d never tasted before and had a light and delicate texture. Good access for wheelchairs and my go to coffee stop in Surbiton when on foot or a motorcycle or bicycle with parking right outside the door.”
“A true gem among Tolworth cafes. Great atmosphere, lovely food (you gotta try their fish&chips!) and astonishingly low prices. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The cafe is wheelchair accessible with a dedicated parking space for Blue Badge holders. Would recommend to anyone!”
“Really quite a nice range of food here and I like to come here as a treat instead of getting a takeaway (as they are increasingly disappointing and poor value for money these days). Much better get an M&S Indian microwave meal than a greasy overpriced takeaway!”
“Family favourite! We've been coming here for years and the food has always been good. We highly recommend the Lamb Shank Jalfrezi and the Tandoori King Prawn. But all the food is very good. We really appreciate that since the pandemic they haven't raised their prices and the food is still great quality. The service is always very good and thoughtful too. We will always rave about The Agra!”
“Used to come here occasionally as a child growing up in the 70s/80s. Moved back to Surbiton with my own family several years ago and was so happy to see they were still going strong. Have been coming here ever since. Dishes taste fantastic, quality is consistent, prices are very reasonable, preparation is fast and staff are friendly. Tried other Chinese takeaways in the area but none of them come close. A real jewel. Bravo, guys.”
“Brilliant pub, great food and friendly staff!”
“Fatjona is one of the most loveliest hairstylist there with so much patience and an eye for detail. She is a perfectionist and makes sure that she makes her client feel special and gives the most amazing service I have experienced. Fatjona is an asset to this salon. 5 stars for her!”
“Top place for good quality and wide range of products. Ofcourse somewhat pricey but actually almost comparable in many cases to M&S and Sainsbury's. Free parking also helps. They have a fresh fish counter and that does some good fish too”
“We had a lovely time here at Harts. Food and drinks were great. Good portion sizes, the food was hot and the staff were very attentive. The only criticism would be that the spotlights are incredibly bright and harsh but that of course is no fault of the staff! Just maybe something that could be looked at,”
“The joy of the railway station pub is an almost universally appreciated joy. And while The Surbiton Flyer isn’t technically a station pub, categorised in my mind by having a departures screen somewhere inside so you can see how many more pints you can squeeze in before running for your train, it’s proximity to Surbiton station certainly brings it close. An old Barclays bank, bought and converted by Fullers 1995, it’s a cosy boozer with a clean interior. Since it’s refurb some 4 odd years ago(?), it’s brought with it that All-Bar-One aesthetic, weirdly keeping in theme with grand Bank entrances, hotel lobbies and railway station concourses. It’s just a bit posh basically, but a sort of faux-poshness, filled with people waiting. Drinks-wise, it’s Fullers and your usual Fullers pub beers. Nice to see (another, since Fullers are only down the road) local brewery here with Big Smoke Electric Eye, although on this occasion, it was a little soapy. In my previous visits here, the London Pride has always been excellent - I should’ve known better. I haven’t had the food here but it does get good reviews. While I love to get proper unsurprising pub grub, it’s hard around this particular one. Next door you have Surbiton Kebabs & Fried Chicken - who I love, not only for the chicken/wraps, but when a car reversed into their shop a few years back, they chose to rebuild it exactly as it looked before and always has. The station itself has more history than the pub. It is “considered one of the finest modernist stations in Great Britain”, is Grade II listed, built in 1937, and designed by Scottish architect James Robb Scott (also designed Waterloo and Richmond among others). It would be nice if they cleaned it once in a while, although it is set for a huge refurb so maybe they can find time to push a broom around. The station was used in Harry Potter if you’re into that too. Overall, if you’re in the area and you find yourself with some time before getting on a train, make sure you’re by the kebab shop entrance, grab a pint, and some wings for the journey. A compact Fullers pub perfect to relax in while whittling down the minutes.”
“LOVE this M&S!!! All staff are so helpful and lovely especially the amazing Rita”
“Perfect place to get all your Indian groceries…stocks are always full and you get every indian product”
“Sophie was on her own behind the bar, she was efficient, business focused, proactive and indescribably charming. If I could bottle her vibe I would sprinkle it everywhere and the world would immediately be a much better place.”
“Visited this pub for the second time in three weeks. We had the roast pork Sunday dinner again. Food was great. Excellent service. Great value. I wish that pubs in Worcestershire were as good as this one. Thank you again for the Sunday dinners.”
“A fantastic pub, the food was excellent”
“Great service pizzas delivered to work for a meeting. Correct site and on time Great customer service on the phone and from delivery guy”
“Really nice local Indian restaurant. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Prices are a must. Always go for the Garlic Naan and the Chutney Tray. Malayan chicken and Biryani.”
“I had my 40th here and it was excellent! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The spaces are a good size, I was allowed to decorate the area and the food was brought out on time and was delicious. I would certainly recommend The Elm if you are looking to mark an occasion, or even for a meal as it was so good. Thanks all!”
“Nice coffee shop. Coffee well made & staff really friendly”
“A food store from the Naslada bakery chain (the former Favorite supermarket), with a new owner, catering orders can be placed, including roast pigs and lambs, lamb shoulders, pies, pies, snacks and cooked foods”
“Amazing shop! Has everything you could need and more. Staff are lovely and always friendly. It is a pleasure going there! Thank you for such excellent service!”
“I went to this place before my shift finished to order some food and told the boy serving i would be back in 10-15min.It was quiet and The boy was serving on his own at the front (young boy, named Janes, sorry for misspelling). He was giving fast and friendly service and apparently also doing deliveroo orders! He had my food ready by the time i came back and he kept it warm on the side for me. Portioning was great! Nice detail to write “Enjoy” on the lid :)”
“After a small mix up on time the manger was very helpful my food arrived at the right time hot big portions and very tastey esp the chicken and hash brown burger and the breakfast beef burger”
“Just bought Chana (chick peas) chaat and it’s delicious as always. Seriously really yummy if you haven’t tried. Hopefully will be ordering samosa in bulk for a small gathering. Thank you to staff who are very honest and helpful.”
“I've had some bad experiences with ordering goods via delivery apps with other supermarkets, but this shop is always so efficient and fast. Very much recommend! Won't be using anyone else from now on.”
““I had the absolute pleasure of trying the Persian pizza at Village Pizza in Surbiton, and it was truly outstanding. This pizza took me straight back home with its nostalgic flavors and that special touch that only authentic Persian-style pizza can bring. The service was equally fantastic—especially the lady behind the counter, who I believe is the owner. She made the whole experience warm and welcoming. I can’t recommend Village Pizza enough if you’re looking for a delicious slice of something special. Five stars all the way!””
“Had the most beautiful kebab I’ve had in my life from here! Just moved to the area and I know exactly where I’ll be having my Friday night dinner every week! I was served my Sam and danice I believe their names were! 10/10 from me and I’m a fussy eater so that’s saying something!”
“Always wonderful service, Kandee and his team are wonderful, always happy to help his customers and if he doesnt have it, ask, he'll most likely get it for you. Always an absolute pleasure”
