First of all: it’s a simple pub outside the city which you can’t compare with venues in the city centre. I really like this venue just for having a beer after work or when I’m thirsty on the way home. It’s not known for its famous food or other specialties. Good offers on working days (Mo-Thu 3,49£ pint of Fosters e.g. …) {+} Positive • {#} Neutral • {~} Negative {+} Service stuff is very friendly {+} fast service {+} nice atmosphere on events, even calm atmosphere on working days. {+} big area outside {+} easy to reach with public transportation or car {+} price/performance {#} food quality is the absolute minimum but it’s okay for that money. {~} the plates could be warmed up before they get to the customers. Vegetables and sides getting too fast cold. The Railway Hotel in Greenwood is a charming historic property that perfectly blends old-world character with modern comfort. Its location is ideal, situated right in the heart of Greenwood, making it convenient for exploring the town’s heritage sites, shops, and scenic surroundings. The building itself carries a sense of history, with classic architecture and a nostalgic atmosphere that makes staying here feel like stepping back in time, yet without sacrificing the essentials of comfort and hospitality. Food is another highlight at the Railway Hotel, with hearty meals and locally inspired dishes available for guests and visitors alike. The dining options reflect both tradition and quality, offering a warm, welcoming place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Combined with its historic charm, central location, and genuine character, the Railway Hotel stands out as a memorable place to stay and dine in Greenwood.

I am extremely disappointed and concerned about the service and food quality my family and I experienced at The Railway, Greenford. We had to wait 45 minutes for our meals, when we asked why so long, staff told us there was only one chef and that there was a big group who made a big order straight AFTER us. When we asked about the delay, we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome by the staff. The only explanation was that it’s Monday and usually they don’t have such a big orders on Mondays and they didn’t know that such a big group will place order after us. Nobody came to inform us the waiting time is now longer. When our order arrived, the tikka sauce and onion rings were missing. The most serious issue however was the quality of the food. The beef in both my son’s flatbread and my husband’s mixed grill was completely off. My son ate three pieces before complaining that it tasted wrong. When I tried it myself, the meat was completely inedible — tasting old and disgusting. Flies were also circling the food, which was unacceptable and unhygienic. I am attaching a picture of the meat with a fly around it as evidence. At this point, I shared only my chicken with my husband and son, as we were very hungry. We decided to leave quickly, as we felt too uncomfortable to raise this again with the staff, given the rude and dismissive attitude we had already experienced. When we arrived home (just 10 minutes later as we live around the corner), my son went straight to the toilet and vomited. I phoned the pub and asked for the email address to head office, I clearly said I want to make a complaint about the dinner we just had and I was given the email by the duty manager Maxine, but she did not ask what the problem was or show any concern at all. This entire experience was unacceptable, especially considering we paid £45 for this meal. Not only were items missing from our order, but the food was unsafe, made my son ill, and the staff showed no care or responsibility. We are long-term regular customers and have celebrated family occasions at The Railway in the past. After this incident, we are shocked and deeply disappointed.

We were a bit confused between Black Horse and The Railway. Finally we found out that The Railway is much happening as compared to Black Horse. The ambiance is good and they have that large serving table. Big TVs all around for live matches and a good crowd. Thursday and Friday they have some kind of offers on food which can be a good deal along with some drinks. They do have a great pool table and some game stations as well. Overall great experience and would definitely be planning to visit soon.

Large Greene King operating under the Flaming Grill banner just yards away from Greenford Underground station. Felt very welcome here on a warm afternoon and felt refreshed with a nice pint of Stella Artois. Food menu looked very good, but had already ate. Pub was clean and staff looked professional. We will visit again soon, and definitely take in some of what the menu has to offer.

We've had a very pleasant time in Railway Hotel recently. The food was really delicious and staff was friendly. A worker named Thomas, I guess, always asked if we had everything we needed and tried to fulfill all our needs. The food came pretty quickly and overall atmosphere was very nice.
