   Packed to the brim on the weekend because it's the best weather spoons around. Lots of kids (18+) come here, so if you see a seat take it!

   This was a great pub for a pint when waiting for our train, with a section near the bar that includes a smooth glass roof! Chandeliers are pretty and the design across the wall has a relaxed feel, counter itself is stylishly presented. I enjoyed an Angelo Poretti and cleanliness was solid, although it is a bit of an unsuitable location being right next to the exit of a shopping centre.

   We had a late traditional breakfast here costing £4.99 about 11.30 beating the 12 o'clock deadline.It was basic but very good value. The service was efficient. All orders at the bar quoting your table number or by the App.There was an issue with one of the coffee machine which meant longish queues. Cheap and cheerful sums it up

   Extremely disappointing experience at The Assembly Room (Wetherspoon) on 1st October 2025 at 16:00. Visited with my 6 year-old son and elderly father. Our food orders were repeatedly wrong, even after clearly requesting no mustard in the children’s burger, it still arrived with mustard, leading to a 30 minute wait for a hungry child. I then ordered a Buffalo Buttermilk Chicken Burger for myself, which again came out incorrect. When I politely raised the issue, I was shocked to be accused of being aggressive by a red haired staff member, even though I was calmly trying to resolve the situation with the original server. Her behaviour was loud, confrontational, and completely unprofessional, especially in front of children. She later claimed to be the manager, refused to give her name, and demanded I pay extra for a sauce we had already agreed would be brought out to correct their error. To make matters worse, we were then asked to leave, despite being calm and respectful throughout. Our food was left uneaten. I’ve since read multiple reviews mentioning this same manager and her aggressive attitude, clearly not a one-off. Totally unacceptable customer service. Will not be returning, and I urge Wetherspoon to review their staff conduct and training at this location.

   Recently done up but it doesn’t really look much different to before. And it’s always rammed so very often hard to find a seat. But it’s always busy because it’s a good place to have a reasonably priced drink and bite to eat. Decent sized outside area too, in the market place.

   I just love the app. Ordering food and drinks from the table is an absolute game changer. I always hated the push and pull of the queing experience. Now I can browse the various drinks options and make sure I choose the cheapest double rum and Pepsi Max available.

   Always go there for a coffee I think £1.20 for refillable coffee or tea, hot chocolate, cappuccino is lovely always have 2 so very good price .have a good breakfast and lunch dinner menu all reasonably priced. went had dinner there was very nice and on a lot of meals a drink is included

   You can't go wrong with a Spoons. And in the summer sun, with outdoor seating and big doors open, then this one is great. Bargain beers and low cost food .
