We were a group of 18 friends and reserved the Wolsey Room at the Duke’s Head in Putney for dinner together, which was perfect for a private evening by the river. The evening went smoothly, and the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, and the room, with its wall of windows and lovely views, was a beautiful setting for our gathering. Our waitress was absolutely excellent; she was very attentive and made everything feel easy, which really added to the night. We all thoroughly enjoyed the tasty, well-prepared food, and everyone was very happy with their dishes. The French wines we chose, both white and red, were delicious and went perfectly with the meal. Overall, it was a fantastic evening and a very recommendable experience for any group looking for a special place in Putney.

Had lunch here with my mum and sadly the food was a real letdown. We both went for the Duke’s Head Burger, but it was very poor. The bun and all the veg (salad, tomato, onion, cucumber) were cold, straight from the fridge. The meat was overcooked and dry, and the cheese tasted more like aged parmesan than something that belongs on a burger. The bun was also stale and just fell apart. I ended up taking the burger out of the bun and only ate the meat, which was still tough to get through. The chips and the beer were good, but that’s about it. Definitely not worth the money. I wouldn’t come back to eat here.

A great Putney pub! The Duke's Head, sitting between the embankment and Lower Richmond Road with great views of the river from the small patio area or the dining room. There is a function room upstairs and a great island bar in the main room. Efficient friendly service and a good range of Young's beers both from the cask and the keg. They also do Sunday Roasts.

Riverside dinner was delicious. Taste and service were quite fine. Archie was kind and caring. Yet, (trio meat) sunday roast portion could be larger up to its price. Thanks

Stopped by for a quick drink, first visit. Located in Putney next to the Thames. Nice traditional old wood feel to the front bar, modern feel in the restaurant seating to the rear. Beautiful downstairs bar but not sure if that's for functions or just at peak times. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Food obviously available but I didn't stay to eat. Service was good. Small terrace at the rear with nice views of the Thames.

Gorgeous decor - so many interesting places to sit and enjoy. There is a view of the Thames and the seats are comfy. It is expensive and quite posh - but the service is brilliant and the pints are cold! I would take a date here to impress.

Avoid eating anything other than pub good. The risotto was nothing but a risotto. Ceaser calad had no sauce whatsoever. Such a lovely pub and ambiance ruined by terrible food and waiting staff.

We got married on the 02 September and couldn't recommend The Duke's Head more as a venue! The night before my wedding, when I was dropping off the decorations and the cake..etc. I met with Dorian and he was just fantastic. He was patient and took the time to listen to me and what I needed. He made me feel comfortable and reassured me that everything would be done and ready for the following day, which is priceless when you're at your most stressed. The only thing that The Dukes Head could have done better would have been if Dorian had been our point of contact through out the lead up as his one night outshone any other communication prior. The night of our wedding was a blast, the entire team were just amazing! Quinton, the manager, was on top of everything and made our evening one to remember. The staff were very attentive and remained friendly and willing to help all evening. They ensured that we always had a drink and were prompt with the food, which was very tasty! The highlight of their amazing service was the communication with myself and my wife. They checked times with us and were flexible if anything changed, such as speeches. The turn around from the sit down to dance floor was very quick, which was then followed by a fantastic evening buffet! The Coxwain room is so beautifully decorated it really didn't need much more, however with the original decor, everything we added and the extraordinary view out the windows both us and our guests were blown away.

The place is lovely by the river and has fast food service. The staff are also very attentive and polite. The drink selection was vast and there was a large area avaliable for more casual 1 to 1 chats. I ate the roast pork option of the menu as did another member of my group and we are in agreement with our opinion. The meal was altogether lovely however individually lacked some elements that could really buck it up to 5 stars for the price you are expected to pay. The ratio of red cabbage to greens was very disproportionate and more greens with stems cut would have complemented the meal better and cut through the fat of the pork. The pork could have done with longer in the oven, this would have crisped up the crackling offered stopping it from being soggy and rendered out into the meat some of the more fatty bits present. The potato's were undercooked and hard. These would have benefited from being preboiled prior to roasting to give a fluffy on the inside, crispy on the out signature of a good roast. Overall with the price considered I would not eat here again unless improvements were made. I may however, despite drink service being a little slow, pop back for a drink due to the wide range of options avaliable.

we'd been a couple times again! Great local pub, friendly staff, excellent food, stunning views of the Thames, a great option for a full meal, or drinks with friends ^_^ can sit in, or take away and drink by the river!! this time I had the board special, slow cooked pork ribs, and aah... it was to die for! gorgeous! Well done The Dukes Head, very deserved four to five stars now!! ^_^ can't wait to be there again! x
