After a full day of exploring the town and hiking through the wetlands along various trails, the traditional English lunch was exactly what we needed. Served hot and flavorful on the outdoor terrace overlooking Barnes Bridge and the Thames, it made for a perfect, relaxing finale to our day, complete with a refreshing pint and a glass of wine. The outdoor ambience was lively while the indoors offered a cozy setting with soft lighting.

We ate lunch at the White Hart yesterday with our good friends who are here from New Zealand. Fabulous old pub, excellent food, cocktails, decor & friendly staff. Best espresso martini Iβve tasted in a long time. We spent 4 hours eating, drinking & lots of talking.

We visited The White Hart for lunch at the end of our group's ramble from Putney Bridge to Barnes Bridge. The pub didn't disappoint with a wonderful outside terrace overlooking the Thames and a lot of historical interest. Architecturally the building is beautiful and stands out on the banks of the river. Food and drink were excellent with a good selection of lunchtime items including vegetarian and vegan. There was a good selection of drinks including Young's beers on tap. Service was quick and efficient with the bar staff being very courteous. A great place to visit any time of year, especially after a long walk.

We visited the White Hart for a Sunday lunch and had high hopes, especially given its fantastic location right on the river. However there is no allocated parking but we managed to find a spot nearby. We had booked ahead and were lucky to get a table on the balcony - the views were absolutely lovely, and the setting really makes this place stand out. The pub itself is full of character β a beautiful old building over 300 years old, spread across several floors, and the atmosphere both inside and outside was warm and welcoming. Toilets were clean too, which is always a good sign. The drinks menu was impressive, with a great selection of lagers and ciders, and everything we ordered was spot on. The main letdown, unfortunately, was the food. We ordered a mix of Sunday roasts β beef, chicken, and vegetarian β as well as the rabbit terrine. My friends enjoyed the terrine, but all of us were disappointed by the roasts. While the meat and vegetables were cooked well, the dishes were completely overpowered by black pepper. It felt like seasoning had gone overboard, and the Yorkshire puddings were actually burned, which was disappointing as well. Service was a bit slow β we waited quite a while both to place our food order and then again for the food to arrive. By the time the food came, I didnβt bother sending anything back. Then we just went to the bar to pay as the waiters were quite busy. Itβs a real shame, as the pub itself is gorgeous and in such a prime spot, but sadly, the food didnβt live up to expectations on this visit. Would return for drinks and the view, but probably not for the roast.

A wonderful pub with a welcoming staff who were friendly and professional. Good food and some good beers with a nice wine selection. A great lunch with friends that led into a long afternoon of chat. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice pub right on the river with outside seating that hangs over the river. You can also sit on the picnic tables on the bank of the river, but be wary of high tide (see photo). They have good vegan options, the vegan burger I had was nice but did do much to satiate my admittedly large appetite. The place can get very busy though! Dogs welcome!

Beautiful British pub, located on the south side of the river. There are outdoor tables on the upstairs terrace and on the ground floor balcony. Inside there are plenty of tables all around the bar. Classic English food, from starters to puddings. As of today you can order using the app on your phone, but be aware that if you make a mistake in the order it will make it a bit hard to cancel or change any item. Service is quick and professional. Book in advance if you want to make sure to get a table.
