Popped in here late on a Friday afternoon for some food and was pleasantly surprised. Food was great and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this place.

Stumbled upon this hidden gem in Finchley, here with my partner spontaneously as we were wondering what to have for lunch. All I can say is we are both so glad we found this place, from the cosy, beautiful interior to hospitable and warming customer service, and not to forget the Delicious home cooked food ! Best pub food I’ve had in a while, fresh, good quality and good hearty portions well worth your money and time coming here. Will definitely be paying a visit again when we can thank you for the wonderful experience.

The Catcher in the Rye: A Cracking Pub in Finchley Central Towards the end of May, I had a meeting near Finchley Central. For lunch, we fancied finding somewhere decent for a bite to eat and a pint. We took a stroll down Regent's Park Road and stumbled upon this really nice, lively pub. The manager, who was super friendly and switched-on, got us a table straight away. He suggested we try their chicken schnitzel and chips. We took his advice, and honestly, it was one of the best schnitzels we've ever had. Especially with those chips, done properly with a hint of truffle oil. If you're ever in that neck of the woods, you really should pop into this bar. The prices are spot on, and the service is top-notch. It’s a proper gem. Nick #drfoodielondon

It is always a pleasure eating and drinking at the Catcher in the Rye. I’d strongly recommend the festive / Christmas set menus whether it is a work do or personal. You get a lot for your money, it is extremely competitive compared to other places in the area and the quality and portion sizes are great. The team puts in such an effort to create a festive atmosphere in the pub with decorations and crackers for the table. The service is as always impeccable. This is our second year in a row booking the festive / Christmas set menu on a weeknight and this year’s meal was sublime and better than last year’s!

This is my favourite local pub in Finchley Central. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. I tried the lamb roast recently and it was good. My only suggestion is to bring the steak pie and mash back to the menu.. that was such a pub classic! I think they have the pie of the day on Tuesdays but not always. Keep up the nice work guys!

Shame this place was half empty on a World Cup match night - perhaps it has to do with the fact the music is so loud (before and after) you can’t even chat…. Even when we asked (with the pub empty). Perhaps if they remembered they were not a club and acted like a pub - more people would come and spend some time enjoying a PUB ENVIRONMENT.

Came for the Sunday roast but wasn’t available along with a few other menu options. Food was basic. I’m not expecting anything fancy for the price but bread and olives was just a slice of white break cut in half.

Very good food. All 5 of us got something different and everyone loved what they ordered. The service was good and the prices were pretty reasonable too. I would come back if we are ever in the area again.

Dog friendly pub with great food and nice staff. The team was very considerate about our request of table in a corner because we’re bringing our dog. The food was really good and it felt homey. This is definitely a place I would revisit many times.
