   This pub is quite nice, but quite expensive. I was having a pleasant time for my friends birthday before someone i was with accidentally knocked over an empty pint glass. The bar then insisted they paid £5 for accidentally breaking it. I highly doubt most pubs would charge anything so £5 for an empty glass is absurd. I also get the impression they can chose who they charge and how much! I wont be returning, my money is better spent elsewhere. Im very disappointed with my experience, honestly ridiculous.

   The sirloin beef was tender and to die-for! Really enjoyed it and would definetely return. I would've given the food 5 stars if it weren't for the chocolate brownie which unfortunately was dry and the roast parsnip was quite hard other than that, the food was lovely! Too bad we were rushed out the door but understand that the christmas season is a busy period.

   The service and atmosphere are great here. Was easy to book a table and overall experience was very nice. However, the roast is just ok. The Yorkshire pudding was disappointing. It was very dry and had the texture of a hard meringue. Pork belly was ok, again for £23, portion size was only ok (you can see the meat in the centre of the belly fat) and belly fat was chewy rather than crispy. Pumpkin was nice, but would’ve been nice to have a few more veg maybe on the plate. Banoffee dessert was nicer than summer pudding.

   Loveeee this pub. Super local and great atmosphere. Me and friends go here at least once a week to catch up. Staff are friendly. Outdoor seating in the summer is great and the lighting inside at night for colder days is lovely too. Not bad prices. Haven’t tried food yet but will definitely be soon!

   Food was scrumptious! Will deffo be returning and recommend a visit. One star knocked off for the asked side plates, which were brought over at the end of the meal. And couldn't really taste the truffle on the truffle pizza.

   Great staff makes a great pub. I know this pub from years ago and It has been always a great place to eat out or have drinks with friends. Last Sunday we have done our baby shower party and everyone had a great time. Congrats to Raff, Connor and all staff for the great service you provide to your customers. Well done!    Having been to this pub a number of times i can compliment the atmosphere, vibe and good range of drinks but the staff continue to be inconsistent and seem to have their favourite customers. The young chap who served me never even spoke or made eye contact with me when passing me the drinks - i was also unimpressed that he served another customer (much younger and more attractive than me) in the middle of preparing my drinks. Will not be returning as The Island and Whippet have much better customer engagement and banter.

   I wrote this review back in August but for some reason I can’t see it on this page. The Rise is an excellent pub and was nothing short of amazing for my birthday. The pub was so catering to what I wanted from start to end. We met with the manager beforehand who carefully went through what he thought the space should look like. He helped us pre order food and catered to the many dietary preference and allergies. On the day, the space was beautiful and we had the staff catering to us non stop. Everyone was so polite and the food was delicious. They made my birthday after a year of isolating and restrictions so much fun! We were celebrating in the back of the pub and had full use of the outdoor terrace and the entire inside area. The pizzas we ordered were so delicious, cocktails were yum & the atmosphere was great. Thank you so so much for being so incredible and so kind! We can’t wait to be back for another celebration in the not so distant future.

   Lovely service, great food and good selection of beers and spirits. They play good music and live sports! It's the perfect place where to chill and spend some good time by yourself, with parter or with friends!! I'll be back for sure!
