We had a last minute dinner here and wouldn’t come back. It is a bit out of the way but we wanted to try a new place and support local businesses. We were sat in a separate area from the main restaurant space (unclear why as there was plenty of room in the main restaurant space) and were forgotten about. Consequently, service was very slow and inattentive. They didn’t have the vegetarian pie available so that cut down the vegetarian options quite a lot. Not many vegan options as it was. They clearly forgot the extra portion of chips we ordered and so had to fire them while we were eating our mains. Had to ask twice for ketchup. Ran out of water and no one came to offer more drinks so I only had one glass of wine. We were going to get more drinks and try their desserts, but we couldn’t be bothered to wait for someone to eventually collect our plates from the mains and take our order. We just decided to pay and leave. Not going to bother returning

First time visiting, lovely atmosphere, really tasty roast dinner (which a lot of pubs get very wrong ). Asked the (new!) manager where would be good for a walk and he went above and beyond to show me photos and took me outside to point me the right way. Loved the supervised kids craft table too! Such a great idea. We'll be back!

The best burger and fries + nduja sauce! yum. Mushroom and chicken pie was tasty too. Will come back to try their desserts as we run out of time! Service with a smile!

We went for lunch on Friday at midday, welcomed with a big smile, ordered drinks at the bar and the kind staff then offered to bring to table outside and bring food menus. Drinks came quickly, we ordered sandwiches of the weekly specials and then came within 10 minutes. Food was tasty, good portions and great value. We will be back and the staff were very helpful. The new outdoor terrace is lovely, comfortable benches and newly decorated.

Lovely setting we had the ham hock croquettes which were good. My husband had the burger which he said was delicious. I had the goats cheese and tomato salad which was fresh and tasty . The triple cooked chips tasted a bit stale. The desserts were OK the crumble was a bit too tart but great portion. I had the banana and honeycomb sundae and was disappointed it was basically a banana cut in half and wedged between a lump of ice cream and covered in cream there was no honeycomb at all I not sure what I expected more of a layered effect of caramel bananas and honeycomb it just seemed slap dash.. All in all a lovely pub and we would come back

We had a lovely lunch to say goodbye to our granddaughter going off to uni. The food was really delish. We had a couple of 'nibbles' to start and they were big enough for starters. Then the steak, fish cake, chicken and fish and chips were all outstanding. As was the lovely crumble to finish. The service was immaculate and altogether it was the perfect lunch. Very grateful to all.

I felt the staff were pleasant and the pub had a pleasing interior. The food was average, with a good presentation, but undercooked chips left us with unjustified disappointment. The choice of 'cheesy chips', being served with a cheese sauce on the side left us confused. There was a good selection of beers with a slightly above average price. I felt the garden was disappointing with a heavy concrete vibe, similar to being in a city. The building didn't display any traditional pub signage, which I feel was unjustified in a traditional country pub with good heritage.
