We visited as a group of ten and had been in the cavern for several hours, enjoying the atmosphere and contributing generously when the bar staff came around collecting for the band. Some of us were playing pool in the back room and still drinking, so we were genuinely surprised by what happened next. An older man suddenly came in from the garden area and approached one member of our group — a woman — in an unnecessarily confrontational manner, saying, “There’s a bar in there, you know,” as though challenging her to buy another drink. When she calmly replied that she didn’t want one at that moment, his behaviour became increasingly aggressive and intimidating. This man revealed himself to be the landlord - shameful behaviour from a publican. When another member of our group — a man — stepped in to question his behaviour, the landlord escalated the situation further, becoming confrontational and even appearing to challenge him to a fight. A member of the public stepped in to try to de-escalate, but things only deteriorated. My friend was ultimately ejected and struck on the head, which felt completely unwarranted and disproportionate to the situation. The idea that patrons cannot be inside a pub unless they are continuously drinking is simply incorrect. Pubs are community spaces — places to socialise, listen to music, and relax. In our case, the entire group had been drinking throughout the evening and had just donated tk the band. In my experience, the landlord’s behaviour was aggressive, intimidating, and completely unacceptable. It left us feeling shocked and unsafe. Based on what we witnessed, I would strongly advise others to avoid this pub and the behaviour of its landlord.

Great place to listen to live bands and have a few pints. Fun atmosphere and a fun night out. The bands are actually really good. Recommend bringing some earplugs if you plan to sit near the front.

This is a gem of a place! One of sadly a dwindling number of music pubs remaining. Always a great atmosphere, great bands, lovely staff and landlord, including the gorgeous dogs! And the prices are very reasonable. Please support these venues, they won't last for long otherwise.

They don't make them like The Cavern anymore! As a pub it's a great place to hang out, warm welcome, friendly staff and regulars, great atmosphere and probably the most reasonable prices in London. As a music venue, it's a lesson in how it should, and used to be done. The bands are looked after, a great sound system and a really musically switched on crowd. It's why we musicians love playing there. Support places like this, or we'll lose them.

A proper gem for live music lovers in Raynes Park. The Cavern is easily one of the best grassroots music venues in West London. So many amazing nights here since I discovered it last year. It's a really friendly place, since so many people keep coming back. After a couple of visits you soon start making new music friends, which is great. A brilliant live music boozer with the vibe of the old Intrepid Fox—packed with people who genuinely love rock, metal and blues music and the London live band scene. Incredible bands play here for free most nights, and when it’s ticketed (£15–20), it’s still a bargain by London standards. I’m always happy to leave a donation when the jug comes round on the free nights—those bands absolutely deserve it. If you’re after authentic gigs in West London, this is the place. Two buses (57/131) stop outside and the train to Waterloo is just up the road. And, rather handy… there’s a chippy next door, so if you’re coming straight from work, you’re sorted. :)

Great pub and music venue! The landlord, Noel, works tirelessly to keep music live in this fantastic shrine to music. Always love my visits here, sadly not often enough though. Keep up the great work.

An exceptional venue and first rate boozer. The musical acts that play here 5 days a week are always top drawer. It’s such a unique & special place expertly run by Noel, Gary and team. No wonder it’s garnering praise in the pages of Classic Rock Magazine & getting famous famous faces queuing up to perform there.

Great place for a beer or two. Beers are kept very well. We stayed for the live band was really good fun. I would highly recommend this place for a fun night out

The Cavern is a top notch place for live music! I loved any band I've been there on - and they have a large list of them. Music is every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - lot to choose from!
