   The flies are everywhere it’s a real big put off the ladies toilets are also disgusting the doors don’t lock one toilet is wobbly and the flies in there are also very bad. If the bar area and toilets are that bad I dread to think what the kitchen is like! Place needs a proper clean

   Absolutely dreadful place, with the rudest bartender I ever had the displeasure of meeting, in my entire life. The person in question would not react to anything and, when I very politely asked him if he’s listening, as he seemed vacant, he snapped at me. It got so bad that I had to tell him that he’s making me feel uncomfortable and I will pass my order to somebody else. As all the other bartenders were busy, I sat back down at the table and my partner went and tried to order food, again. The same person was again very rude and refused to take the order because I asked for no rocket on my plate (due to a mild allergy). Bear in mind, the dish I was ordering was not even supposed to come with any salad, I just wanted to make the kitchen aware not to put it on the plate as decoration, either. To continue this nightmare story, he refused to serve my partner, as well, just because he could remember that I told him that his behaviour was making me feel uncomfortable. Basically, a very petty revenge, completely inappropriate in the sector he chose to work in.Eventually, a manager came and solved pretty much nothing. Rather than helping us with the order or actually doing something about it (I’m still starving as I’m typing this…), he decided to ask us to go on the other side of the pub and order from somebody else.So, all in all, although the manager came across as nice, our issue, as clients, was not addressed. I am about to finish my juice and I swear to never again come here. This place lives in a time of its own, of “drinking holes”, where the client doesn’t matter and should just pay and disappear, whilst accepting the rudeness of under-qualified employees (like said bartender) who have no work-pride and no basic understanding of the fact that they work with and for other human beings… Ah! And the ladies’ toilets and terrible and smell worse than one could ever imagine. As for the food itself, I am marking it down with one star because, although we tried ordering three times, one incompetent employee stopped us from even being able to pass the order. Or from ever wanting to visit this pub, again. Thank you, The George, for ruining our Saturday afternoon!

   Awful experience! So I ordered some curry and a burger for lunch. When the food came, we started eating the naan bread with the curry. When we finished the naan bread on the top of the plate (as you can see, the naan bread is big and covers what's beneath it), we noticed there's a blue plastic bag on the plate,inside, there is some rice, soaking wet,.. Is that how Wetherspoon serves their rice???? It looks like the blue rice bag is dumped there, are the food even clean? We immediately left without taking another bite. It is absolutely horrible, I should get my money back,but the employees are nowhere to be found. The authority should send a team to inspect the kitchen.

   We were there about 5:30ish on a Tuesday eve, it was buzzing with people! Quite cozy place with drinks/food at reasonable prices! Ordered food via app and it arrived quickly! Good service! Had a fun evening out! This has been my Go to place after work event with friends! Hasn’t really changed much over the years!

   I always love the franchise of Wetherspoon. I was in Croydon and I had to try it. It never disappoints. Great veg wrap, the idea of bottomless coffee makes it even better. The George-JD is beautiful with books and antique look. It's huge and therefore you have 2 counters in here. Must visit!
