Perfect place for a Sunday roast. Very tasty a you will not go hungry from here. We had a plate to share with beef, chicken and lamb. Perfectly cooked.
Just grabbed a quick drink so I didn’t get the chance to try the food, but the pub is really cosy and inviting. The pub is separated into little nooks that make it quite an intimate atmosphere.
Today we decided to try a new local pub for a Sunday roast and it didn’t disappoint. The food was excellent, cooked just right and served in generous portions. The staff were warm and friendly, which made the atmosphere even more welcoming. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
We had a really enjoyable meal at this pub. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the service was excellent. The pub garden is nice with a relaxing atmosphere, and there’s a good choice on the menu. Highly recommend!
If you like old, traditional pubs then this is for you. This pub is full of nooks and crannies with some unusual but pleasant seating area. It retains original features, such as the low doorways between areas (even Gimli would bump his head). They had three cask beers and about a dozen whiskies, I chose a 12yo double oak Balvennie at just over £12 for a double measure. As well as the wonderful interior they have a lovely, spacious garden, some of which is under cover. If you are in the area this is a must visit pub, it is a journey into a bygone era.
Food was okay. Drinks were good. Service was alright. Not a bad stop, but not a great stop. The building is nice and well decorated. I really enjoyed the outdoor seating experience. Would go back for a drink!
Stopped by here by chance, wasn’t overwhelmed. The beer was pretty good, food was pretty good, service was pretty good. I did love the outdoor seating vibes they had. Both pates we ordered were very similar only difference was the protein chosen. Great place to stop for just a drink.
Sam Smiths pubs so you pretty much know what your getting. The stout is nice. My Mrs worked here many many moons ago, hence our visit.
Truly a lovely place for a pint or proper pub food. The fish and chips might be the best I’ve ever had - light and crispy and with a full fresh moist cod filet, hot, a perfect balance of flavours and textures, and elegant presentation. The chips were also perfectly crisp on the outside while hot and tender on the inside. The staff was lively, friendly, and attentive. The atmosphere was quaint and comfy and the bar itself makes for a well-rounded pub experience. Highly recommend!
