Christmas day meal. Plenty of room on our table, waiting staff were an absolute pleasure, making sure that we had everything we needed and despite some customers on the next table being incredibly rude to the poor waitress they remained cheerful. Plenty of food, excellent potatoes and the gravy.....oh the gravy! Will definitely book again for Christmas.

Lovely place, the staff were really nice. It was quite busy, but that's always a good sign. Food was good, slight mishap but they were very apologetic and offered a free drink. I will definitely go back as they weren't rude about the mishap. Being a vegetarian/vegan I wasn't made to feel like I was asking for too much.

Nice food and atmosphere but terrible service As we arrived we were told that the computer system hadn't been working that day so to expect a slightly longer wait for food. We were perfectly fine with this and thought we'd wait maybe 15-30 mins more than usual. Instead we still hadn't been served after over 2 hours of sitting down and everyone at our table was starving. One of us went to the front desk to inquire about our orders and we were told food would be coming shortly. Then a waitress comes over afterwards and tells us that one of the pie dishes we'd ordered isn't available! The fact that they only realised this now meant they'd entirely forgotten about our order. We were debating whether we should just leave at this point when the waitress came over and offered us a round of drinks on the house. My mother asked instead if the table could have a bread platter as we all hadn't eaten in multiple hours. We were expecting a large portion of bread we could all snack on but we were served 4 small slices of garlic bread and nothing else. When you think that we could have alternatively gotten £50+ worth of drinks, this just felt like a kick in the teeth. Eventually we got served shortly afterwards. The food itself was nice but nowhere near good enough to warrant waiting almost 3 hours to be served.

Nice Setting, Disappointing Service The food and atmosphere were lovely, but unfortunately the service didn’t quite match. There were no prices listed on the drinks menu, and the price shown on Google Maps was incorrect. We ended up paying £4.25 for a latte, which was advertised as being “served with a flapjack” — but none arrived, and no explanation was offered. When we asked a staff member, she rather unapologetically said they didn’t have any flapjacks that day and refused to offer a discount, claiming the flapjacks were “complimentary anyway.” However, this wasn’t stated anywhere on the menu. It’s not a major issue in itself, but it does reflect how the place values its customers. Also worth noting: mobile signal inside is poor, and you need to create an account to access the Wi-Fi.

visited here with the family for a birthday celebration however was disappointed with our evening. the service was slow, especially considering there weren’t many customers on a monday night. my drink was incredibly sour it had to be sent back, the calamari starter was near enough flavourless, with the garlic flatbread being better but undercooked. the mains arrived which were all very average, the steak was lovely however broccoli with the fish cakes was very tough and difficult to eat. the pizza was also undercooked and nearer to being floppy - with the chicken being dry and seemingly out of place on the pizza. overall, it was a shame as the setting and the interior was beautiful. the kitchen staff just need considerable review.

Had a great meal for an 80th birthday, food was great, (though would be nice to have a bowl of vegetables to share,) and service too. Definitely going back

Came here for Sunday lunch with the family yesterday. Service was very good - we were looked after by Rabina and Callum. Drinks were slow to arrive, but in fairness there wasn’t a table free in the pub, it was really busy! The Food was soooo good! Exactly what we had hoped for. A choice of lamb, beef, turkey, pork belly or vegetarian option. No chicken though which seemed a little strange. The roasts were great; plenty of veg and a good size portion. Excellent value at around £14.50 each. Sides were about £2.95 - which was good value for the cauliflower cheese (which was delicious), but less so for stuffing wrapped in bacon at the same price. We didn’t stay for dessert - a slice of cheesecake was £7.75! That’s nearly half the price of a whole roast lunch… which seemed disproportionate. Sticky toffee pudding was £6.95 which was also a little steep I think. Definitely one to book in advance if you’re thinking of coming on a Sunday! Overall, we will definitely be back for another Sunday lunch. Thanks for a great experience!

We visited again recently, for the first time in several years. The staff were polite and promised table service but there was none. Had to collect our drinks from the bar, despite being told they would be delivered to the table, the bar tender seemed more interested in taking a call on their mobile. The pub wasn't very busy and we could see staff attending to another table of customers... Our pizza was burnt underneath and the board it was presented on had seen better days. Overall a poor experience, so still only just about worth the 3 stars I gave it last time.
