   First time visiting this pub, the gentleman behind the bar was so accommodating and happy to help and the roast was honestly the best roast I have had in a long time. All 4 of us cleared our plates. Would recommend and would return.

   A lovely Sam Smith's pub that adheres to the usual rules of putting down your phones and talking to each other. The beer was as well kept as you'd hope and the staff were friendly. On the day we visited the pub seemed to attract a diverse clientele, some of whom were playing games, others playing pool or darts, and more still sitting in groups and talking. The vibe was lovely, and it's always nice to see snob screens, even if they're not original.

   Overall a nice pub with lovely, friendly staff. Very reasonable prices, but food needs improvement. Garden currently under renovation but nice tables out front in a quiet street. Also pool tables and lots of space indoors to hang out. Food: Sunday roast was cheap (£12 for chicken) and large portions (I would say too large for an average person with each chicken roast containing half a chicken!). Best bit was the gravy which was one of the nicest that I have tried. The chicken skin was nicely cooked but the chicken itself very dry, and the veggies a bit bland and overcooked (most just boiled).

   Quiet, classic Samuel Smith Pub. Nice staff and interesting local clientele. If your soul is in sorrow, have a pint. Great traditional pub if you fancy a digital detox (no phones or laptop).

   Vintage vibe — mobile phones not allowed! I really liked this traditional pub and will definitely be back. I do have a few suggestions for the management (others may disagree). I personally like the "no mobiles" rule that they have, but I think they could do it in a more tasteful manner. For example, instead of having lots of signs taped up on nearly every part of the walls, perhaps just one at the bar and maybe one or two elsewhere? There's a way to get the message across without it being tacky or overbearing. Secondly, I appreciated that there wasn't loud or obnoxious music... But the complete and total silence is a bit... uncomfortable, especially when the pub is quiet. It would be nice if there was just a tiny little hint of music in the background. Maybe even just traditional folk music or classical even, just to add a bit of atmosphere.
