The sort of pub where regulars seem to have an unwritten language with the barman, which is a bit unwelcoming if you're dropping in for the first time. Disappointing range of beers, at premium prices. There are so many interesting pubs in Clerkenwell, so I'd probably give this one a miss.

It did get busy. Service was polite. But this is a pub, and your review questions didn't include asking about which beers and ciders were on offer and what condition they were in. This place is lucky to get one star for these ENTIRELY important aspects. It's a pub after all.

Good atmosphere and well kept pub. I had ordered a wine and about to order food but was promptly told that my partner had to order a drink or leave as that’s how they ‘make money’. Understandable, and we were planning on ordering lots of drinks but had just sat down. I guess if you’re the owner of the pub you can make your own rules, but what a shame for them to be so unreasonable and rude. I would have recommended a visit but not after that palaver. Awful experience. Went for a few pints across the street.

Such an amazing pub, coming from Australia the location is amazing. Down a quiet lane and across from a church I tried the chicken and bacon sandwich and it was delicious Not a bad range of beers and staff are super friendly Worth a visit if you are in the area

Good pub with friendly staff and clean toilets. You can watch games as they have a huge TV. It's worth having a pint over there.

We watched a Premier League match there. The one sitting beside me was the supporter of Manchester United and the one behind me was the supporter of Chelsea. But we all were sitting there peacefully for the match. Food is good and you can order alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks there.

Pretty average for the area. Beer (Harvey’s Sussex Best) wasn’t great, quite flat actually. Nice little pub in a nice location and seems to have some quirky touches so will probably pop back one day

Stayed at a nearby hotel and stopped in to watch Southampton and Chelsea play. Saw the decor change mentioned in the reviews and I certainly understand the disappointment for anybody who previously experienced that. However, as the owner explained, changing it wasn't really a choice and it's still a fun pub with a friendly staff. The one-star reviews in light of something they had no control over are disheartening. We sat in a corner table by the window right underneath the spire of the church on a lovely night and enjoyed the food and drinks immensely. The service was excellent and a blistering Saints performance only added to the atmosphere.

Very smart pub in a lovely location. I didn’t visit before the current decor so can’t comment, nevertheless it’s an attractive pub. Five hand pumps but, at the time of my visit, only DoomBar and Seafarers on; Landlord and Harvey’s off, plus one empty. Just needs a little more attention to real ale options to make it five stars!
