   Hands down our favourite pub. Anywhere. We’ve been coming here for a years during which time there have been a few changes but the great vibes and beer remain constant. Seb and his team are super friendly and they also do a mean Sunday roast. It’s the kind of place you can’t help but come away from feeling all is well with life. So lucky to have this pub on our doorstep!

   First and last visit for me!! This WAS my son's local and he took me along for a drink and a meal. The award for the worst burger of 2025 goes to this pub. I don't like salsa or gherkins. I simply like cheese, bacon and onions. No bacon on the menu but I asked if they could put some onion in along with the cheese. He said he'd tell the kitchen. Said burger arrived with tiniest amount of cheese and no onion. On asking, was told "no onion in the house!". Wasn't offered any condiments and when I asked for BBQ was told they don't have any. I then said, well what about brown sauce? I was firmly told "brown sauce is for breakfast!" I said that's rubbish, no it isn't. And she told me AGAIN. "You only have brown sauce at breakfast!" The burger was therefore bone dry and just horrid. I ate it simply out of pure hunger. The Pepsi Max was absolutely flat. Not a single bubble. Clearly not gassing their soft drinks! My son and his GF wanted fish and chips but despite only being early evening, they'd sold out. He then ordered three starters for them to share. Delivery to the table was a joke! No table numbers or wooden spoons with numbers on. We told them where we were sitting and they still fudged it up and walked away with our food as we couldn't hear them call out as they were too far from our table. They missed one of the starters off and said, chef had forgotten and it was on its way. However, it never arrived and my son went to seek a refund. They then said he'd only ordered two starters not three and basically started having a go at him!! He came back to the table genuinely shocked and a bit upset at how he'd been spoken to and at how our evening had turned out. He was also disappointed as this HAD been his local and he'd always found the staff to be polite. When pubs are closing at an alarming rate, you'd think they could at least be professional and kind to their paying customers. I will stand by my opinion that brown sauce is an ALL day sauce. Royal Albert ... educate your staff!

   Honestly a fantastic experience. Just moved into the area and arrived without reservation, the team were more than happy to fit four of us (& our dog!) into the restaurant - the service was exceptional - provided beer tasters before ordering the white chocolate stout they had on tap along with a great selection. The menu is brilliant, we all had burgers they were delicious. Cocktails after also great. Definite 5 star spot!

   Oh my the Roast here is so good you will eat to bloatation, which is easily done because the portions are very generous. The service is excellent and the beer is kept well with a good selection of real ales and decent alcohol free options. This is one of the genuinely good pubs you won’t be disappointed.

   Was here yesterday for the Sunday roast. Food was fantastic, and the manager who served us couldn't have been more attentive. Brought us extra yorkies on the house and was really funny, and personable. Stayed after our meal for Sunday Jazz, which was amazing.

   Best roast in town. You must come here for a roast if you live in Deptford or New Cross. Beautiful room with glass atrium, friendly staff. Great place for a pint also. Their other food is also excellent.
