   Lovely vibe, took a while to get our food but can't be upset with that around Christmas. Burger was great but didn't come with chips which is crazy for £15. Tasted great and offers gluten free buns too.

   Our visit to The Duke in Wanstead was a wonderful experience, combining the charm of a traditional pub with the feel of a modern dining spot. We tried a mix of pub classics and seasonal dishes, all beautifully presented and full of flavour. The Sunday roast was generous and perfectly cooked, while the smaller plates offered a creative twist on familiar favourites. Drinks were equally impressive, with a wide selection of beers, wines, and cocktails that matched the menu well. Service was attentive and friendly throughout. Staff were cheerful, knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure everything ran smoothly even when the pub was busy. What stood out most was the atmosphere. It felt lively and social without being overwhelming — the kind of place where locals and visitors mix easily, creating a genuine community vibe. Overall, The Duke in Wanstead is a must‑visit. Great food, excellent drinks, and a welcoming setting make it a standout pub experience.

   Went to a brilliant Street party organised by The Duke. Great bands, the pub coped with the large crowd really well, setting up stands outside selling food and drink. The atmosphere was superb and it was a lot of fun.

   It's a lovely pub, hidden in a quiet neighbourhood. The staff couldn't be nicer. Alas, in my opinion the sunday roast is quite expensive for such a small portion.

   Really lovely pub, for food and drink. We had steak sandwiches which melted in the mouth. It was also good with kids and had a kids menu that suited my little one and gave her colouring in pencils to colour the menu.

   Our favourite pub in the area by far! All the staff are super friendly, foods great - priced quite high but 100% worth every penny. Lovely atmosphere in the pub also and super doggy friendly would recommend.

   Love this pub and have gone regularly for years; service has been hit or miss recently (where hasn’t it been, tbf). But last night’s dinner was wonderful: want to shout out particularly excellent service from Taylor and Gemma. Absolutely flawless from start to finish, on a busy Friday night. Food was great, wine was excellent. Thanks, team!

   Above average price, above average food, way beyond average portion s. I loved the pub and the vibe. Two main rooms one for family dining and one for pints and sports. Awesome food, some of the best tasting things I've had this side of the pandemic. Portions are huge, the lamb shank for example could feed 2 or 3 comfortably. The sides are delicious. Thoroughly recommend. Somewhat eclectic pint choices, but it has Leffe on draft ‼️ Been in London for a long time and I've never seen that - Belgian vibes.
