1. The Whisperer ★★★★★

   The pub has quite an interesting front with seating enclosed clear plastic hoarding, which I suppose would be great to keep our of a cold breeze. The staff were friendly and the pub was clean and tidy even though it was quite busy. The usual seating options available but mainly low tables. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar.

   I like this place for its price, menu availability and the environment/ambiance. However, what I really don't like is the availability of fresh food. Almost 90% of what you order is pre-packed or processed food and some of their sauces have MSG in them. I know this is not a health restaurant but pre-cooked processed food (mash, sausages, peas, etc.) are harmful to health. The taste of the food is wonderful and the staff is very friendly.

   Helpful & friendly staff, Good choice of food & beers, still good value for your money. It can get busy at the bar so best to order food & drinks at the same time & more than one beer so you will not need to go to the bar so much.

1. Chard “KingCorona” Blizzard ★★★★★

   Hilarious. The staff are wearing what looks like security cameras. I was sat near a couple that were having a loud and drunken argument. An old man was just staring at me from his pint of I assume some guest ale, then averted his gaze when I stared back. Staff member who took my order was the newest, poor thing looked suitably overwhelmed. 10/10 would visit again..

   Another Weatherspoons with the usual food and drinks at sensible prices offering. Not an exceptional building and the bar area is quite dark even on a really sunny day. Good friendly people behind the bar and a good atmosphere with a nice mix of regulars and locals. There's a small area with seating on the pavement outside and this is in full sun from lunchtime onwards. Perfect for people watching while enjoying a cold drink. Clean and fairly well maintained, this is an OK example of a Weatherspoons. In case you don't know Weatherspoons, there's no background music, just the sound of people talking which is really nice. Worth a visit anytime of day for food and/or drinks.
