There's a spooky feeling in The Camel today. Excellent steak and kidney pie washed down with a pint of porter. My first visit, but hopefully not my last. Very friendly welcoming staff. Perfect place for lunch after a visit to Young V&A, which is just around the corner.

So glad we went to this pub, the pie and mash is to die for, soooo good (perfect pastry, perfect amount of gravey and mash and apprently I enjoy mushy peas now!) The staff were so nice, friendly and welcoming, it felt like a proper nice homely pub! X

What a tremendous pub. Lovely atmosphere outside on a busy summer evening and a great interior too. Plenty of pleasant staff so it was always quick getting served despite being busy. Β£5 for a pint of Becks too which is phenomenal. And look at the size of that lamp outside!

A proper hidden gem in Bethnal Green! I first discovered The Camel through my boyfriend, as it was his favourite spot, and it quickly became mine too. Even before I moved to the area, we’d make the trip just for the pies (which are absolutely fantastic). Since moving here five years ago, it’s been my go-to local, and it never disappoints. What truly makes The Camel special is Debbie, she always checks in to make sure everything is just right. The staff are always lovely, and over time you start to recognise the regulars, which just adds to the charm. The atmosphere here is cosy, friendly, and full of character. Whether you’re popping in for a quick pint or settling in for the evening, it’s always a great experience.

Another great, family-run, East London pub. Again, Friday lunchtime on the last day of (dry) January, so relatively quiet. Three cask ales on - my pint of Wandle (Β£4.60) was gorgeous. The pies & mash looked great - must try next time. Alleyway outdoor seating for when the weather finally improves! Pubs like these are little gems that need supporting.

Great little pub. Really friendly staff that went out of their way to ensure everyone could watch the World Cup final. Great prices for food and alcohol too! And… the most important thing… they have pies! Not ceramic bowls of stew with a bit puff pastry thrown on top… proper pies fully encased in delicious pastry! Yum!

One of the best pubs in East London, on the small side, but welcoming. They have a decent selection of beer on tap and bottle, with some still under 5 pounds the pint. They also have plenty of siting space outside. Traditional decoration, lovely staff and cozy, it can't get much better than this.

What a good pub should be like, busy, friendly, serving great beer and food. And a lovely atmosphere. Sadly we didn't get to sample the pies, but will return for sure as my daughter says they're excellent. Highly recommended.

The Camel deserves at least six stars from Mr G, a wonderful little pub tucked away in the East end at the end of Globe Road! There are a lot of camels in the pub, all look healthy! The boss is on the table outside, a cat in case you were wondering. Her servants work inside. The lady running the pub, not the cat has judged it to perfection. Great service, great beer and great company! Plenty on offer, both cask and keg, all looks well kept and my sample confirms this. There is also a great selection of pies, the Kate and Sidney was brilliant. A most excellent place to visit.
