   Staying near the airport, thought this looked an interesting place to eat. Website said it was open but when we arrived a man outside said it was closed for a private function. Would have been good if it had said closed on the website. Very disappointed as looking forward to our meal.

   I've only been in twice and already feel part of the family. This is a proper pub that I've been missing. Robert and family have only recently taken on the pub and turned it around. It's cosy, friendly and they have a function room putting on late night fun. The locals were also welcoming and friendly. I'm looking forward to going back when we are next in North Woolwich!

   Such a good vibe! Friendly atmosphere and felt totally welcome. As a woman going out for a drink alone I was made to feel safe by the staff and the locals. New owners for like a year now and they are nothing but welcoming and polite. Banter on point and great night in all!

   Was alone and a bit lost. Chanced by this place and popped in for a drink. Opened the door and the place fell silent. A man put his drink down, walked up to me, and asked “Oo’ the fakkin’ ‘ell are you then?” I decided this place seemed fun, told him my name, and got a myself a beer. Someone else asked “are you a copper or summink?” (I’m not), so I replied “I might be! Why? What’ve you done?” but before he could answer the barmaid told him to leave me alone! As a tourist I award 5 stars for such an authentic tradional London pub that lives up to a genuine cockney stereotype!
