I gave it 4 stars because I tripped at the entrance, but the staff were very friendly and helped me. I tried the fish and chips and it was delicious. I saw there's a great selection of drinks and food. I'll definitely be back. Thank you
Had some busted stuff in the room - lights, radiator - but I absolutely cannot fault the response from the staff, who brought in a plug in radiator and gave us several meals on the house over the comicon weekend in exchange. Amazing amazing service. Also, the sound proofing between the ground floor and the rooms is e x c e p t i o n a l. Didn't hear a peep from downstairs. Also the food was fantastic. Really really good. Would stay again.
Stayed in the hotel for the night and had dinner in the pub downstairs. All food cooked to perfection, wide drink variety, great service, welcoming atmosphere and all under one roof. Great value for money for London. Food portions are great and drinks are definitely moneys worth. We will stay here again once we are in the area. Highly recommend.
We had a fab stay at this hotel. Staff were really welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Only marked a star down because the towel rack was hanging off the wall and there was a huge water stain on the bathroom ceiling. Decor was tired but the bed was comfy, room was well stocked with coffee tea and biscuits. Breakfast was an added extra and would recommend. Well priced, tasty and plenty of it. Thank you to the guys who checked us in & took our breakfast order for looking after my Dad, who'd had a fall before arriving at the hotel. Much appreciated
Probably the worst place I have ever stayed. It's not a hotel. It's a separate building at the side of a restaurant. Hotel reception? What is that? A grubby table tucked away in a corner. Hopeless if you have mobility problems as it has several flights of stairs. No contact number in case of problems. No central heating only two portable electric heaters. TV didn't work. No-one there after 12 pm in the evening. No-one there before 12am in the morning. My suitcase was locked away in a store room so I had no clean clothes and no shaving/showering products. Staff were clueless. Management of Fox are dreadful. I wrote a lengthy letter describing the problems with my stay and haven't heard back. This stay cost me return train fare from Coventry, the room cost and a ruined weekend I had arranged with a friend from Florence whom I was due to meet. If they offered me a week's worth of accommodation and food as compensation, I would laugh at them and tell them where to put it
My review is not about the food or ambience of this establishment, although it didn't standout either. I am writing about how they treat their customers who are driving to this place and park in their parking lot. Be aware that you will be slammed with a PCN (parking charge notice). This is the first pub I experienced who have contracted with a private parking enforcement agency and applies a parking fine to their customers. really really teriible. and when you appeal it showing a valid receipt that you were a customer, their somehow negotiate the parking charge. totally ridiculous. I would avoid this place for the shady practice.
Was put on the top floor and furthest room away, not great a day after dislocating my knee. Obviously not the hotels fault. However, the stairs aren't great. Room is very small. Plenty of plug sockets. Wasn't the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. Bar downstairs was decent and let you take glasses up to the room, which was a bonus as there was only 2 cups in the room. Good access to Underground via DLR. Less than £95 to stop in London, which isn't a bad price really.
Had the fish and chips which were tasty and not too pricey. There were plenty staff and service was quick. It was Saturday night before Halloween so it was lively and was entertained by all the costumes. Football on TV so hubby was happy apart from score! Loud music but it was Saturday.
The pub has a nice atmosphere although the prices have shot up quite a bit since the last time I was there. They have a nice selection of spirits and the nachos are so nice. I visited with my friend who had her baby with her. We wasn't allowed to sit inside as they have a no children policy. Doesn't make sense to us as we had to sit outside where everyone was smoking. Staff are friendly enough and they have security on the door which is reassuring.
