   Rude girl behind check out. I had a very elderly dog in my arms and only wanted to buy a newspaper. “You can’t bring dog in here” she shouted at me, I said I only wanted the paper, “You can’t bring dog in here” she shouted again so I put the part on the counter saying “you don’t want to sell a paper then” and left. We come and stay in Bakewell regularly, luckily for us there is another petrol station across the road. Will not be returning.

   I called at Central Co-op Food and Petrol on Haddon Road in Bakewell because the oil warning light had come on in my car and I had no oil with me. Mark and Rob were extremely helpful. Not only did Rob check for me which oil I needed to purchase for my car, but he checked the oil level and topped it up for me too. Without their help, I could have had a very difficult and expensive car situation on my hands. Sincere thanks to Mark and Rob for coming to my rescue. Your helpfulness and efficiency set me on my way again in no time.

   Never on the ball authorising the pumps gave up and went to Jet across the road, also needs a till for people with their weekly shop and a separate one for people only buying fuel.

   Worse petrol station I've ever used the staff member Glennis wood left me stood at the petrol pump for over 10 min ignoring me waiting to pump fuel while 2 other staff members walked around the forcourt I ended up using the JET across the road ...

   This garage is a nightmare in a morning there is always a really long queue, there are often members of staff stood around chatting if you ask could someone else come and serve you get lots of eye rolling and muttered remarks. They often have one till which is broken. Spoke to a lady who I believe was the Manager to ask if she had head offices address her reply was “ I might have”. I try to avoid.

   Rarely is this petrol station full operable. Either air, water or the jet wash is broken. Petrol deliveries also take place during opening hours, which closes the station for the duration of the delivery.

   They shut at 10pm sharp (sometimes a little before) so don't leave it till the last minute to fill up or you may get stranded (Matlock is the closest 24 hour garage to Bakewell).
