Bought my first bicycle in 8 years there today, and Marcin was absolutely amazing. We hit a bunch of obstacles along the way, but he was so helpful, knowledgable and considerate throughout, worked around all of them, and made sure I was riding out of the shop. I cannot thank him enough. I finally get to ride again! I’m so happy! Stuff shopping online! I’m coming here from now on!

Booked a bike assessment with the clear intention of getting my bike booked in for repair, as this is the only option available online to obtain a quote. On arrival, I was told there was no technician available and that the bike couldn’t even be taken in for repair. The “assessment” was carried out by someone who was not a technician and clearly unable to properly advise on what the bike needed. He briefly looked at the bike for a few seconds, said “Silver Service” (which I know is insufficient), mentioned a bike chain, but could not provide any quote or clarity on parts or costs. When I asked further questions, I was simply told to come back in three weeks or go to another store. I had walked over an hour with a broken bike for this, only to be told that nothing meaningful could be done. It’s unacceptable to take bookings when there is no technician available to properly assess, quote, or book in a repair. To make matters worse, the staff member tried to deflect responsibility by saying, “You only booked an assessment, not a repair,” despite the booking itself clearly stating that an assessment is required to determine parts and provide a quote. This has always been the process at other Halfords branches I’ve used: assessment, quote, then leave the bike for repair if you agree. When I asked if I could leave the bike and wait—even if it meant collecting it weeks later—I was flatly refused and told to go elsewhere. Very poor customer experience from start to finish. I don’t understand how this booking process is allowed to operate like this, and I won’t be using Halfords again.

The staff (Nitesh, Katie and other) at Cycle section were very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions about bike purchase, maintenance and accessories. They helped me choose the right bike for my son. The service was quick, and I felt like they genuinely cared about helping their customer. Went instore to buy new wipers for my car. The Deputy Manager of the store helped me find the right ones for the front windscreen. I also needed one for the rear window. Apparently Halfords don't sell any rear wipers for the Toyota. Train your staff to go the extra mile if it means more money in the till. The deputy manager who chose not to help me find a rear window wiper because the policy recommends a charge to take off old wiper and match with a new one. I thought that was lack of customer service as why would I pay if in case there was no match instore! I have had better service in Harrow before they closed down. Kwik fit found me a wiper and fitted it no issues at all.
