   Whilst having a New Year's Day walk around Wirksworth, we spotted a sign for the footpath to this feature so decided to take a look. I admit the walk up the streets leading was a struggle as it was quite steep and not in peak physical form after the late night seeing in the new year! However you are rewarded with great views over the surrounding countryside but the viewing platform to see over the Star Disc was closed. As there was a group of us, we did enjoy looking for our respective star signs. If you don't want to walk to see it, there is car parking nearby. Free to visit.

   Incredible walk around the forest. The star disc is amazing. It was really worth the drive eventhough I did a trail hike first before walking here. So clever how the disc has been created. Loved it!

   Great place to visit, loverly walks nearby, however, if you are driving the access road is very steep and narrow, big problem if you meet someone coming the other way and not a lot of parking.

   We parked down in Wirksworth and walked up. It's a road so easy to walk on but very steep walk up there. Lovely spot at the top to visit the Star Disc. We went in the day so didn't see it lit up but still nice visit. There are other walks to do through Stoney Woods

   My partner and I visited this today, set next to a wonderful looking quarry, very picturesque, great trails to hike, and a decent array of places to eat and drink. I would have liked to have seen it at night as well and this is supposedly a wonder to behold. I am sure we will be revisiting again to see it all lit up.

   Interesting , found by accident while walking round Wirksworth, steep hill climb to the top but worth it for the views alone. Has a viewing platform with an amazing old quarry behind it. Well worth a visit. Believe it lights up in the dark so maybe another visit is on the cards.

   A great spot to take in the panoramic views. Very atmospheric no matter what the time of day. I can particularly recommend sunset for the great skies and then the lights on the disc turning on. The lights change colour too for a chilled disco effect.
