Lovely caravan site located within Clumber Park and about a 30 minutes walk to the visitor centre. Large pitches, fantastic modern toilets / shower block, extremely quiet both during the day and in particular the night. Small negatives are there's no phone service and limited WiFi, but for us, that's not a deal breaker.
I did not stay at the park for a holiday. I live in a neighbouring town. I have visited this park for around a year for the pizza van they have on a Thursday evening. Prior to this, the pizza van was in a local pub; as the pizza is so good, I followed them to this caravan park. May I emphasise that this is no fault of the pizza van at all. For the past year, I've had no problems. I think that the park is beautifully set and every time I've visited, be it most Thursday evenings, it seems quiet and well maintained. I've even recommended the park to some relatives and friends who own caravans. That is until recently. I visited the park to get a pizza, and leave, which I've had no problem with in the past. The barrier has been up the majority of the time enabling me to park my car in the car park, where there are plenty of bays free may I add, walk and get a pizza, then leave and eat it at home, with no problems at all. The barrier was closed, so I parked to the left of it in a bay and walked to get my pizza. Before I could even walk past the reception, an employee came to meet me. He asked what I was doing here, which I replied that I was getting a pizza. He asked if I'd left my car in the middle of the road, which I explained was in a bay next to the barrier, while the driver of the vehicle was also sat in it, asking if this was alright and if not I would run and get it moved. I noted to him that the barrier being down was a little uninviting, especially as they have a pizza van on who serves the local area; not exclusively the caravan park, which he did not take lightly. I understand this comment may have caused offence. He claimed that the car park was for 'members only', and that he could 'tell me to leave' at any moment. I apologised and explained, told him I wasn't going to argue with him, which he replied that he would be arguing, after apologising he said 'good' and I proceeded to get my pizza, and he went back to the office. Before he reached there, he changed his mind and decided that he was going to chuck me off the site, despite the fact that I hadn't been unreasonable, had apologised, had listened to his explanation about parking, before proceeding to a co-worker, Andy, if he was right in doing this - as he 'wasn't taking this'. While I entirely agree that he is allowed to refuse entry, I am a young lad, who was dressed in a suit, I remained extremely calm, obeyed his instructions, and had caused no issues. I complied, turned around, and left without fuss. However, his level of customer service, and overall friendliness was disappointing and upsetting. It was extremely unwelcoming - the park could embrace this as a great advertising tool and a great way to interact with their local community. I was simply coming to get a pizza like I always did - most weeks. I did not get the pizza - through NO fault of the pizza van themselves. This has put me off this park entirely. It's extremely upsetting as this has ruined my experience of the park. I now have little confidence to return, in fear of facing a similar interaction.
Just arrived back home from a 3 night stay at Clumber Park CAMC . Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here . Toilets and shower facilities were immaculate and the site itself was lovely, clean, tidy and well run with good security . Fab facility there enabling you to store your bikes securely . Great park for the kids , reception staff and wardens very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay . We felt welcomed and would definitely recommend a visit .
What a lovely campsite in such a beautiful location. The campsite is pristine with what looks like newly refurbished toilet and shower block (Limetree). The campsite is located within Clumber Park. There is something for everyone here. I enjoyed 2 days of hiking the trails around the lake and wider park. There is a cafe trailer at the top of the lake about a 1.5 mile walk from the site. The main cafe within the National Trust complex in the park is about 2 miles from the site. The walking is easy as it is mostly flat. I will definitely be returning here.
Superb site in the forested grounds of Clumber Park. Beautiful new facilities, underfloor heated showers, spacious pitches, and a great location for walking and cycling. Very helpful and friendly staff. Wood fired pizza van Saturday evenings not to be missed.
Our first caravan site since we bought our first caravan. Lovely site not long since been updated. Shower block lovely, clean and warm. Great facilities. Play park for the kids. The only down side is on phone signal which we knew when booking. But wifi available on site. Would definitely come again.
The most spectacular entrance to a camp site yet. Newly refurbished, nice and clean. A huge thank you to John and his wife (im sorry i didn't get her name) for squeezing us in last minute and they were so warm and welcoming, an absolute credit to the club. Always had time talk! We were a bit concerned about visiting this site after reading some of the recent reviews, but after visiting it I don’t really understand what some folks were on about. The site is really well maintained, the new shower and toilet blocks are probably the best we have seen. John, the warden was very helpful and polite. The site is very close to a National Trust property which is brilliant for walkers and cyclists and also there are key coded gates from the site straight in to the woods surrounding the site. Definitely recommend the site.
What a great club site! Clean, well maintained, great level pitches (hardstanding - didn't stay on grass). Great kids play area and the facilities were fabulous, they should be as they've recently been refurbished. There was security walking the site, you are in the middle of nowhere remember, not there is anything to worry about either. There are security codes to exit and enter the site through very sturdy gates. Plenty of walks from site to take the pooch or just yourselves, you can quite easily walk for miles! Worksop is in easy driving distance for shopping for essentials but the small on site shop (reception) seemed well stocked. I'd advise adhering to the site arrival directions as other lanes on the estate are narrow with few passing places. Don't let the stone archway fool you, I got an 8ft wide caravan through no issues. Don't arrive before 1pm as even though you can pull off the road on to verges, it would be difficult to turn around plus vehicles are impacting the trees lining the main access road by compacting the ground.
