Recenly, I booked my 2011 RR L322 TDV8 in for a suspected turbo/turbo solenoid issue. Overall the whole experience was disappointing. I paid Β£271 for a clean car and not much else... ( I did not want a clean car, I wanted a working car/advice/proper diagnosis ). It was booked in for Thursday a couple of weeks ago, I dropped it off in the morning as instructed and was told it would be looked at in the afternoon and to expect a call... No call came, which is fine, as I know garages are busy and honestly, I do not envy having to juggle many repairs, admin and customer service. Friday, no call. Saturday (they are open), no call. So Monday comes and I give them a call and they say they've looked into the issue and I would need a new turbo (which I know is not needed) and they are pricing it up. They don't call at all that day so I call them just before closing and have to basically pull a quote out of them (which is 5k) for a turbo replacement on the drivers side. I said I would need to think about it as 5k spent on a 7 ish k car is quite the investment. When told I needed this work, there was no reasoning other than 'the turbo is tired' - that won't fly. I went to pick up my car the next day, the receptionist was cordial and helpful if prompted... I asked for an itemised quote (which he hurridly wrote on a post-it)(not especially reassuring). I saw within the paperwork that there was a diagnostic sheet from an enhanced OBD scanner of sorts, which I had to ask for a copy and was not offered in the first instance. Upon asking why the car needed a new turbo and what their diagnostic process was I could see the person at the counter was somewhat lost and wasn't told the appropriate information for the job. They stated that the turbo was just tired and that the mechanics had the car on the ramp and they plugged the computer into it... How can you tell a turbo is tired without physically inspecting the turbo or removing the turbo?? Which bit of the turbo is 'tired' --- does it need new seals? Are the blades pitted and scored? Is it consuming oil? Does it not spool up enough? Is there white smoke from the exhaust? The explanation of why I should spend Β£5000 was poor at best... For the money I paid, I can see that they plugged in an OBD scanner and wasted time cleaning my car to a poor standard... I did not want my car cleaned, especially not somewhere I didn't take it for a clean. I went to Kinghams from a fair distance because of good reviews that stated reasonable prices and knowledge but I'm doubting if these prior reviews are particularly accuarate. I feel as though I wasted Β£271 plus Β£25 worth of ULEZ fees, not to mention fuel and time. I would not reccomend this garage.

Good old fashioned customer service is not a thing of the past! I had my wifeβs car serviced at Kinghams this morning and couldnβt be happier with the service I received. Communication throughout the whole process was great. To sum up, I donβt think Iβve ever received better service from a garage in my 25 years of driving. Kinghams now have a repeat customer as Iβll be bringing my car here when its next service is due. Keith even gave me a little tour behind the scenes. He is clearly very proud of his operation, and from what Iβve experienced today, quite rightly so.

We have been using Kinghams for several years now, and there the only Garage that I would trust with my Porsche. Iβve had a couple of cars from them now, and their advice is 100% Honest and trustworthy. I must give a special thank you to Mike, Chloe and Keith.

I cannot speak highly enough of Kinghamβs. Having been disillusioned with going to Land Rover service direct, a leaflet was put through my door. I have used them twice now for a service and a new panel and they have gone above and beyond. Just great service and how it should be. Keith is also a fountain of knowledge and history. Thank you

I gave my car for accident repair. I wait long time. But result is most interesting. I collect my car few days later and straight claim. Bumper and rear doors in different colours. Manufacture of car change different gap between doors and rest panels... answer from garage they can't do nothing and this is ok. When I told my complaints regarding to this repair person start shouting on me. Look on pictures... how this garage is professional???

Any time you use a new garage you're always a bit wary and this was no different - I have always stuck to what I know. However when the manufacturer issues a recall notice you have to go to an approved dealer. Kinghams were my closest. Staff were friendly on the telephone making the booking, you get confirmation by text (and a reminder) and I found them to be helpful and knowledgeable in person. During the day I received 2 videos of the work being carried out (airbag replacement) and a call to let me know when the work was completed. Overall a positive experience (and a nice shiny car on collection)
