   Up and down here all the time since buying a car from them. Seems to be one problem after another I got the warranty which I thought would make life abit easier but it doesn’t. A fifteen minute fix that I’ve already paid for takes a whole day so I’m having to walk ten miles there and ten miles bak each time. The warranty for me is a waste of time I’m afraid

   Got my car serviced from them recently and the initial quote was 300 ( which I presumed to be the full service cost including the cleaning inside and out). I was never informed that they have bronze silver and platinum service which means the price they quoted was for the minimum which includes changing the Oil and bare minimum. I did a mistake of comparing their bare minimum coat with the MGs complete service cost which duly includes full cleaning inspection and all other full service. On top of it I get a call that my GPS regenerator needs to be sorted out else MoT would fail and additional 120 including VaT would be charged for it. As if I had an option, so ended up saying yes. Which I googles and understand that if you drive at a speed more than 45 50 mph for 15 20 minutes this stupid tool regenerates itself, but fear of failing MoT bothers you big time On top of it they found punctures in the car which actually car sensors never picked up and was charged 60 plus VAT on those changes. In summary ended up spending way more than MG quoted for full service including cleaning but learnt a lesson that cheap is not always good Spent another 22 pounds to get the car clean in and out after spending 500 pounds for better minimum service ( that odds changing of oil) Big time lesson

   I recently took my car to McCarthy Cars (UK) - Service Centre at Silver Wing Industrial Estate, Horatius Way, Croydon, for its annual service. Typically, their service is quick, and I can expect the car to be ready within a day. However, this time, things were very different. The service took over a week, which was a significant delay compared to their usual efficiency. The issue seemed to stem from the diagnostics process, which took much longer than anticipated. What added to my frustration was the lack of communication. I was not updated about the status of my car, and I had to reach out to them several times for information. This lack of communication was disappointing, as I usually have no complaints about their customer service. When the car was finally ready, I was relieved to find that the service itself was completed to a high standard. The team performed the required repairs and maintenance thoroughly, and my car was in great condition afterward. However, the cost was another issue. I ended up paying three times the amount I had initially budgeted for, which was a significant surprise. While the quality of the work was good, the lack of transparency about pricing and the extended service time left me feeling dissatisfied. Overall, while McCarthy Cars still offers quality service, this experience was far less satisfactory than usual. I hope they can improve their communication and pricing transparency in the future.
