Can’t speak highly enough of Hollyoaks Medical Center. All the staff are friendly, efficient and attentive. Big shout out to Dawn on reception for helping me add my son onto my NHS APP.
We had an urgent need for a prescription that had come through on a letter from our Consultant. Dawn pulled out all the stops to work through what was needed to get us access to it quicker. So appreciative of her help, it will help my husband and I get a better nights sleep.
I am so pleased I have discovered this surgery . There is never an issue booking appointments, the reception team are always friendly and go over and beyond to provide an excellent service! It is much appreciated. The GPs and nurses at the practice are always welcoming and supportive. I was also happy to discover Dr Shalaby offers a small surgery where I had a steroid injection and removal of a small cyst . I would highly recommend Hollyoaks Medical Centre.
Absolutely amazing service from Dawn, the reception/practice manager. She has really gone above and beyond in sorting out an online access query which she spent time researching, and then sorted for me and my husband. She, and the other receptionist, have always greeted me with a smile and a positive, helpful attitude. A real credit to the surgery.
My family and I have been patients here for many years. We have no problems getting appointments when needed. The doctors are all kind, listen and explain things well. All staff are very helpful. We recently had a problem and the staff went over and above to help us and solve the problem. I’m so grateful to have access to such a wonderful practice. There is so much criticism of GP surgeries in general at the moment, I see this practice as the gold standard and other surgeries could learn from them. They are always there to help when needed.
Dr Shalaby performed minor surgery on me (not the first time) he’s very professional, calm and his work is very neat. Every time I’ve been here Dr Shalaby has been amazing, making sure I’m relaxed and I NEVER feel a thing! I can honestly say he’s one of the best doctors there.The nurse Nikki is very friendly and was present during the procedure.
I must admit that this is best practice i have registered with, as i move frequently. I got to see a private Gp tbrough work, diagnosed me with a wrong diagnnosis, got online appointment booked , doctor rang me, he was unable to sort the problem over the phone, i had a face appointment next day, immediate diagnosis and the problem sorted straight away. Can not ask for more.
Please change your appointment protocols, to enable clients to book an appointment at the surgery. To be told to go outside and inside phone from the carpark, comes across as extremely rude and unhelpful, especially if you can't get through via telephone. Or like many of your elderly clients have hearing problems.
I am sharing this because I am genuinely concerned about the ability of one of the Doctors at this surgery. My mother had a chest infection 3 months ago and was given a course of antibiotics. They didn’t work so she was given another course and they didn’t work either. After that second dose, she was told it was a virus and she had to “give it time to get over it”. Two weeks later she called them to say it was no better, if anything her cough was worse and rattling and she called them every week for 8 weeks without anyone even giving her an appointment. They fobbed her off and now she has spent a week in the Alex with pneumonia, all because they didn’t believe her or listen to her to treat her condition, properly. I have finally convinced her to move surgeries after a catalogue of issues with this surgery, but I will be writing to the NHS about this particular doctor as well. Be warned about this, the response to the most recent review tells you everything you need to know.
For some reason they keep trying to kick me out the doctors now i have to take a letter to prove where i live in person to get an appointment. Ridiculous and stupid. The doctors are actually ok its just the people who answer the phones and deal with queries although there is one new lady who is nice.
