Yes they sent a van out and it came at the time stated, by I'm concerned about the legitimacy of this charity, as they are rather picky about what they want to take, which tells me they are more concerned about profit than providing furniture for needy people, they also don't take bric a brac, which they state they do. I've also got to repair a wall that they damaged.

There’s always such a fantastic range of good-quality items — I’ve bought so many lovely things from here over time, and I’m always thrilled with my purchases. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which makes every visit such a pleasant experience. You can really tell they care about what they do and the community they serve. I always leave feeling happy and grateful — highly recommend to anyone looking for great finds and even greater people!

I really wanted to support this charity and was glad to donate several clean, usable pieces of furniture. But sadly, the experience left me disappointed. I was told collection would happen between 10am-2pm and that I’d get a 30-minute heads-up. No one called, so I chased the office at 1:30pm and was told the driver was running late but would definitely call me - but then I got crickets! I chased again at 3:15, and they finally arrived at 4pm. That was six hours of waiting, rearranged plans, and stress - thankfully my husband was home and could take our dog out, otherwise it would’ve been a very long day with an increasingly anxious pet. Worse still, the team refused to take two perfectly serviceable sofabeds because of a small stain on the underside of the pull-out mattress. These were structurally sound, clean, and well within what most would consider “reusable” - and yet no flexibility or common sense was applied. They refused to take the sofabeds and sell them as sofas. They even refused to let ME clean the stain. Just “no love”. Why? “Because”. Okay. What makes this worse is that their own website doesn’t mention anything about rejecting items for minor marks; it simply states items must be reusable and have the correct fire labels. If stain-free condition is so essential, why not ask for photos in advance or do a quick FaceTime check? Or clean them - or even replace the mattress at a cost of under £50 (and presumably less, that’s what a 1 min Google search tells me). It just felt like arbitrary rules with no warning - and frankly, a waste because both sofabeds will now go to the tip. I felt a bit like a walking ATM when the collector asked me for Gift Aid right after rejecting the first sofa. The contrast between the transactional tone and the lack of care for donors’ time and effort was stark. If you want people to give freely, basic clarity, communication and respect really do matter. This experience fell short on all three. I certainly do not plan on having any dealings with this charity ever again.

The warehouse and shop have some brilliant items in. Some items can be seen online, but you do need to go and see items you want to buy before they deliver it for obvious reasons. They have a lot of good quality and well-made stock. But it's difficult to know what will be available as some items go very quickly.

Been to The Furniture Project off of recommendation and honestly was very pleased with the experience. We needed a sturdy table & chairs set as we have two young children and don’t want to spend loads of money on a nice set to just end up ruined. The Furniture Project is the place to go! Although, it being the only table & chairs set in the shop, it was perfect for us and exactly why we purchased it. The lady in the shop was very helpful and delivery was reasonably priced too. Can’t wait for this to be delivered!

Odd experience with this business. Contacted them to arrange collection of a 5 year old sofa - smoke free, pet free home. Fire labels in tact. Told them it had 3 marks and sun fading and had been refused by British Heart Foundation but they said they had a lower threshold for accepting furniture. They asked that we reassembled the sofa and arranged collection. The collection drivers were really nice and courteous so stars given for them, but they wouldn't collect the sofa as said it was too marked. It was still a good sofa with a few aesthetic wear and tear marks so I struggle to believe that it couldn't be re-homed to a family or someone in need. We were only getting rid of it to free up space, nothing a blanket or throw couldn't sort. Felt like they were only interested in near-new furniture to sell on and wasted our time which is a shame as we'd really liked to have helped someone in need set up home.

Wouldn’t collect my 3 seater Parker Knoll sofa because it has slight sun discolouration on the arms..The woman on the phone said ‘Well, our families are quite picky..’ WHAT HOMELESS FAMILY would say ‘Oh no thanks, me and my kids can’t possibly sit down on that sofa because the arms are slightly lighter colour‘ THIS IS WHY OUR SOCIETY IS BROKEN. I even said on the phone that I had been turned down by 10 different charities and they were my only hope and warned them about the slight sun fading. (I’m not exaggerating either. The arms are just slightly less red than the rest of the sofa.) I was planning on donating to the charity once it had been collected as a thank you. BALLS to that idea if your ‘homeless’ families turn theirs noses up at high value items. What a ridiculous world we live in. Took a day off work for nothing

The Furniture Project, turned up today and collected our 3 seater and 2 seater sofa, the two gentlemen that came to collect were very polite, friendly, and quick. The lady Kim (I think sorry if I wrong) whom answered the phone was great and very helpful., Was given multiple options of days and for collection, to suit us, she was able to book us straight in for collection, we was given a 4 hour slot. We got a phone call from the gentlemen to let me know when they was near by so we could be ready. Will definitely give the furniture project a call in the future when we have other items to pass on. Many thanks

Just had them round to pick up 2 sofas They tapped the springs and said they're on the way out...we were still using them and only getting rid because we've ordered some new ones as were renovating the whole downstairs. I thought that a charity would be glad of donations?? They even said they've got to be careful as they go to families and kids might jump up and down on them .....at this I was speechless. More like they turned up in a smallish van and hadn't got room ....This was after myself and the wife had struggled to get them outside to save the pick up team. How ungrateful!!! 1 star because i couldn't give non
