We love going to this hotel. We go about six times a year and have them for about four years. The staff have always been excellent and polite. Never been an issue and it’s handy having the pub next door so we can have food. There’s also loads of shops nearby, they have their own car park. What else do you want?

Booking was a scam because my relative booked a room with a double bed and single bed and they weren't allowed to have 3 adults sleep there. They had to book an extra room on the day at a rate of almost £60 per night. Advice to Hotel owners - just don't put a single and double bed in a room for 3 adults are not allowed there - I would call that false advertising.

The loud music and singing from another room started before 10pm and didn't stop. We called reception 4 times after 1am and nobody answered. Had we not had a drink we'd have left there and then but obviously couldn't drive. The hotel should have given the rooms occupants 30 minutes to keep quiet and thrown them out of they ignored it. They should also have advised the occupant that their credit card would be charged for every guest they were obligated to refund. But, no offer of any refund, the hotel got all their money and the poor guest without sleep are the ones to suffer. We won't be back because the hotels attitude is "tough".

For all intensive purposes this is just the same as a premier inn. It's inexpensive. An hour to Birmingham on the bus which worked out well both ways and spoons which is 6 doors from hotel so it's good for cheap breakfast. Ide deffo stay here again.

I was staying at Redwings Lodge the night of the Black Sabbath concert on the 5th July - although it was completely packed and many of us were coming back late, I received great customer service from the receptionists (particularly the lady on the desk in the mornings who was super friendly and welcoming - apologies I did not get her name!). Room was very clean and comfortable, and I had a great stay.

The rooms have everything that you need for a hotel tv, wifi, comfortable beds etc. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate anything we needed, anything that they didn't have they've taken into account and are planning on implementing it in the near future. Transport links into Birmingham every 5 minutes and right outside the building, only bad thing I could say if I'm being picky was that it says online theyve got a vending machine which they do BUT nothing in it ( they've said they're taking it out but I think big mistake )

Great value and lovely staff. Shame about the karaoke session people were having opposite us til 4am kept us up but not hotels fault - remember to bring your ear plugs!

It's a budget place so good VFM. The receptionist was lovely and very helpful. Also, the local services offer a vast amount of choice, everything you need is close by. Would definitely stay there again.

This is basically an old premier inn that has been taken over by new owners. The rooms are a little tired but the welcome is friendly and the location in the middle of Shirley is great with plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. Parking is free as well which is good.

We stayed at the Redwing in Shirley. We received a very friendly welcome from the reception staff, and the hotel was perfectly located with free parking to our needs. The room rate was excellent, comfy bed, exceptionally clean room and shower room. We were concerned that we may hear the traffic, but it was quiet and peaceful.
