You can't get to speak to anyone no after sales to help would never buy from scs again my settees are rubbish after 6 months they look as if we have had them years just 2 pensioners in the house
What a wonderful experience! I visited this store this morning for a look at the stock of a three and a two seater settee.I was very impressed with the amount of choice,well displayed, all furniture clearly labelled with details i needed to know.I spoke to the store manager Baljeet,he was well informed and very helpful indeed.As I was only browsing, I had shortlisted two settees that I thought my husband would also like,Baljeet offered to email the details to me to share with my husband on my return home.There wasn't any hard sell and I felt totally in control. I was so thrilled with my selection, my husband and I returned to the store after confirming measurements and we made the purchase! To be delivered in time for Christmas, wonderful service, thank you.
I paid in full, up front, for a sofa from SCS Cortonwood, after clearly requesting a sofa, footstool and headrest. The manager confirmed this was fine and gave me a price which I believed included everything. I was also told the sofa would be collected before delivery to be “spray protected” — later I discovered this service hasn’t been offered for two years. They then tried telling me it had a different protection on it, because I was going to refuse delivery when I found out by the delivery driver it was not sprayed as promised. - This was also a lie. On delivery day, the sofa arrived without the footstool, the leg bolt was damaged so the sofa cannot even be used, and my brand-new laminate flooring was badly scratched by the delivery team. They admitted fault and took photos. When I went back to the store, the manager admitted I had asked for the footstool but claimed he “didn’t think I’d want it”, then went on to say they wasn’t any in his store ( they can be ordered) when all else failed and he had no more excuses he then tried to tell me I was confused. He was rude, dismissive, and refused to arrange a refund or even collect the faulty sofa. His response was simply: “take us to Trading Standards.” I was then left with no sofa, no footstool, and damaged flooring that I’ve only just paid a fortune to install. I’ve been mis-sold, lied to, and treated appallingly. However after phoning head office and explaining they did come to collect the sofa and I did receive a full refund a couple weeks later. Absolutely shocking service and dishonest sales tactics. I would strongly advise others to avoid this store. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.

Well visiting this store was an experience. Never in my life have I felt as pressured and uncomfortable in a store whilst browsing as I have in this one. From walking in the store in a relaxed mood just wanting to have a browse and pick out the right sofa in my own time (was about 30 seconds) I was approached by a female member of staff who worked there who may as well have been attached by a lead to my leg whilst looking. I eventually walked off and found a sofa that had interested me so I asked for more details. What a mistake that was, the lady again appeared from nowhere, sat on the sofa across from me with her feet up and basically if she had my bank card she would have ordered it for me without any say I felt that pressured. Also raising her voice when I asked her to repeat a question that I had misheard. Rude, incompetent and quite frankly it came across as very desperate for a sale. Safe to say I’ll be buying from elsewhere, what a joke. I’m bewildered to say the least.
Avoid cortonwood bought a sofa tried to charge me double the price added loads of extras without asking when questioned the lady said she had explained all the extras which she clearly did not
Exceptionally poor shopping experience. I was hardly through the door before 2 aggressive sales people tried to get me to engage in what I wanted. Despite explaining I just wanted to have a look first I was stopped by sales team a further 5 times trying the hard sell before giving up half way round second floor. Even then one of the team tried again as I was walking out. Awful, does this hard sell approach work on anyone?
Firstly, the products are fine but... we can't give more than one star because the service we have received to date has been really poor. We ordered furniture and three floor coverings. To summarise our experience: 1) they have pushy salesmen following you around the store despite telling them 'we are only browsing' (which is code for 'please leave me alone'), 2) we felt extremely pressured into putting down a deposit as it was 'last day of the sale' only to find the product was even cheaper the day after, 3) our orders were put through incorrectly leading to confusion and constant hassle by head office team who don't communicate with the store, 4) bad advice given and ordering errors by the flooring surveyor meaning we now have an awkward step at the door threshold between two rooms, 5) experienced significant delays in getting the floor fitting and many calls to head office could not resolve this issue, 6) frustration because of the inability to call the store direct to deal with issues, and 7) they ignore formal complaint emails and are not willing to apologise or learn from the problems we have had. Shop at SCS at your risk! It will take a lot for SCS to regain our confidence for us to shop there again.
Great service received from a lady when looking for a new dining table and chairs. I told her what I was looking for and what I didn’t like. She found me very quickly exactly what I was looking for and even better it had gone into the sale a few hours earlier. Deal done!
