A good selection of plants and gifts. However, in my experience the staff are not very friendly and there is often a long wait (30 mins +) for food in the restaurant.
Food is excellent but service is diabolical, we were a party of 5 ordering lunch, 1 got her meal another 10 mins later another 2 meals came, the 4th meal came 5 mins after that and the 5th meal came after 20 mins and we had all finished ours so she had to eat alone. 3 of the meals were hot sandwiches, 1 was jacket potato and 1 was a rag pudding which came first to the table followed by 2 hot sandwiches then the jacket and last was the last hot sandwich. So if your in a group make sure the staff know you want to have your food at the same time or just don't order
Lovely cafe,the place was mad busy there was a Christmas fayre on. The busy staff were still friendly. We ordered a roast beef dinner,chilli and rice and two teas. All lovely. The Christmas fayre seemed to be well attended too.
Love it here and so do the kids. Cafe is is massive. Loads of fish and a huge tank with massive fish for the kids to look at too. Plants are always well looked after and looking great. Bought loads of things throughout the years here. Themes throughout the year keep us coming back. Halloween and Christmas are not to be missed.
Visited Gordan Riggs to get a new artificial Christmas Tree. Our previous tree was old & tired. Christmas displays are fabulous. Got what we needed, price reasonable. Decorated the following day. Clothes dept was a surprise to us, we haven't been for a while. We'll be back soon.
Good selection of plants, shrubs and trees for this time of year. All internal and external gardening needs seem to be catered for. We had a very nice lunch in the restaurant which had a good choice of foods cooked to order. It did get busy around 12.00 - 12.30.
As we had been to the Christmas fair in the garden centre we decided to visit the bistro for lunch and a hot drink. It was really busy but we got a table easily enough. I went to order, food for us both, coffee and tea for me. My husbands coffee was fine but after pouring my tea I noticed lipstick on my cup, plus both teaspoons felt sticky and a bit gritty. I went back to the counter to have them changed and a fresh cup for me. No problem, I was given a clean cup minus my tea. Diane, the lady serving coughed into her hands and continued serving. She didn't wash her hands. I was so glad I'd paid by card so I wasn't given change!. Not very good.
If your into Christmas then you've got to check out their selection of decorations, lights and ornaments the selection is varied with plenty of styles and colours that will appeal to everyone. All your other needs can be met for gardening, DIY, pets and you can round the trip off with something to eat and drink. Enjoyable drive out, definitely worth a look around.
Nice garden centre with friendly staff. Lots of choice and offers in the shop, currently spring bulbs are on offer. Great café for a quick meal or coffee.
An amazing garden centre , excellent displays for Christmas, loved the grotto especially as many have not had them re pandemic. Enjoyed all the displays in the garden centre and will be going back there. It was my first visit so can't wait to see what they have for spring
