   We drove 4 hours to spend the night here for our anniversary, communication was good with codes & keys ect. The lodge was clean ish, it could be improved, I.e the toaster had lumps of old bread in, fridge hadn't been wiped out, microwave was splattered and a few other bits. The big copper bath is a nice touch, if you could fill it without the water running cold, you could put a sign up not to use the shower before filling it otherwise you have to wait 20 mins for the water to re heat, which by that time the water you have filled is freezing. Underfloor heating a bonus, view 10/10, outdoor lighting lovely when its dark, and the log fire which i always go for for cozyness please leave extra logs as 1 is not enough. The wifi is dreadful, to the point you could not even watch the TV, built in netflix wouldn't work, we took our own fire stick that wouldn't work, it wouldn't connect to our phones, definitely something you should be looking at. The mattress is just awful, it is far too soft, I have been since early hours due to the pain in my back. The lay out, the log fire is behind you if you want to watch TV otherwise you have to sit on the sofa bench but then can't see the TV, bit mismatch. The sign that says leave clean on exit would be fair if it was already clean to start with, and think the sign to take your own rubbish out before leaving is a bit cheeky considering that should come under your clean on turnover with price we have paid, and considering you live on site with the bin opposite, but we done it. All in all nothing special we have stayed at much better, for the price & time driving. Would i return, the answer would have to be no I'm afraid but that is just my opinion.

   I booked ‘The ashwood’ for my partners birthday. Safe to say it did not disappoint. He was over the moon with it. Clear instructions on the location. Made it super easy to find. Clean, comfy & much more than I ever expected. Hosts are polite and helpful with arrival ect. We will definitely be returning in the future. Absolutely stunning shepards hut, beautiful views & lovely location. Highly recommend!

   Such a wholesome weekend away, would definitely recommend to anyone! So peaceful and amazing location for getting away and spending time away from normality. The lodge its self had everything you needed (own car parking space) and was SUPER clean ! everything worked such as heating, hot water ect. Really comfy bed also :) We Loved our stay and will definitely be back !

   We hired out all of the shepherds huts and the log cabin at Ockeridge Rural Retreats for our wedding weekend, and it was absolutely perfect. From start to finish, the team couldn’t have been more accommodating — everything was spotless, beautifully presented, and ready for our friends and family to settle straight in. Each hut has its own charm and luxury touches, from the cosy interiors to the stunning countryside views. The log cabin made the ideal gathering spot in the evenings, and everyone commented on how peaceful and special the whole place felt. It really added something magical to our wedding weekend — we couldn’t have asked for a better base to celebrate with our closest family and friends. Huge thanks to the team at Ockeridge for helping make it so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

   Well maintained cabins and grounds. An ideal place to get away from the hassle and bustle of busy everyday life. I personally wouldn't recommend for children. I would be terrified if our 2 youngest came as they would spoil the tranquility with their constant bickering and noise and I'd panic if they made a mess.

   My boyfriend and I stopped here for our 10 year anniversary - we weren’t disappointed. The shepherds hut was beautifully presented and we loved Jacks tuck shop for drinks and snacks. If you are looking to stop here, you will have to commit to going out for food or collect it yourself. The leaflets that were left by Tiffany - the Thai was closed for renovations, the Chinese didn’t deliver and neither did the pub for their stone baked pizzas. We committed to collecting some Pizzas from the Manor Arms which were a lovely addition to our stay. Thank you to all. We will definitely be returning closer to Christmas :)
