Had 2 hip replacement surgeries here the last one was in August. All the staff did an excellent job.

Had very mixed experiences in this hospital, and not sure it really counts as a hospital any more, health hub would be a better name. They are very cautious with any treatment due to the lack of full emergency treatment available so have had appointments here then been sent to Pinderfields. The A&E was downgraded and is now a Urgent Treatment Centre.

I went for a ankle x-ray 6 weeks ago and was told nothing is wrong and I can walk on it in a week and be back active in 2 despite my ankle being terribly swollen and painful. Said I didn’t need a ultrasound but 6 weeks on I am waiting another 6 weeks for a ultrasound now because my local doctors have to refer me for one instead of them and I have a suspected torn ligament that was somehow not thought of or noticed by any of the staff at the hospital.

I’ve been using physio at Pontefract hospital for nearly 6 months and I’ve now been signed off. John Lane who looked after me was so welcoming and very knowledgeable. He’s helped me massively with my back problem. If you get John as your physiotherapist then you’re going to be ok if you listen to his advice.

Appreciate rubbish hospital. My wife went from a baby scan even though I had my face covering exemption round my neck I was asked to show a letter fromthe doctor to prove it, considering no other hospital asks for this letter I stopped carrying it round with me and they refused me to go in with my wife, when I asked the receptionist why I got a snoty reply saying its standard in all hospitals in Yorkshire but when I mentioned a hospital in South Yorkshire she got snappy and said that's not in mid Yorkshire. When I mentioned 3 other hospitals in West Yorkshire she said I was lying. It's not how I got trained in customer service

I was a day patient having ankle surgery on the elective orthopedic ward yesterday 4th Sept, the staff were second to none from the amazing nursing care I received... to the anesthetist who looked after me all the way through the procedure and walked me through every step... she was marvellous! and my wonderful surgeon who made me feel very at ease before surgery. Can not thank the team enough.

Doesn’t even deserve one star, waited 4 hours for my child to be sent. I would be understanding if the hospital was busy but there were only 3 families waiting when I arrived and when I went to ask staff they were sitting around chatting. Appalling and completely unnecessary. Oh and parking situation is ridiculous. Should be shut down, management is abysmal.

I had an operation at Pontefract Hospital yesterday (Sunday), my first visit here, and the experience was as good as it could be, absolutely first class. My respect for NHS staff is already at a high level, and the staff here were so professional and genuinely caring, despite the pressure they are currently under, that I felt relaxed and calm throughout, and in good and extremely capable hands. My thanks and great appreciation to all the staff at Pontefract Hospital.
