A lovely clean shop with lots of protein rich produce to help me make good choices on my diet. Plenty of parking and helpful staff. The bakery section is impressive.

I bought fresh white fish from Lidl UK — it was still within the use-by date, but when I opened the packaging the smell was unbearable, like ammonia and decay. I cooked it in the air fryer, but the stench was so strong I had to ask my partner to remove it. The next day, white larvae appeared on the cooked fish. This is absolutely unacceptable and clearly a serious food safety issue. The product must have been contaminated long before I bought it. Lidl should urgently inspect their seafood storage and supplier hygiene — this could make someone seriously ill Disgusting

I love this store, especially the bakery section. One thing I've noticed though, is that fruit flies have been getting at the baked good. Also, they used to have things freshly baked but now it seems they're baked enmasse and stored in a fridge, which affects the quality of the items. They're still nice, but sometimes I hear them up at home to get that freshly baked taste. They have a good range of produce, especially the fresh fruit , veg and meat. Excellent app too, enjoy getting the chance to win freebies!

I had been a weekly shopper at Lidl and shopped namely every Friday without incident. One particular Friday whilst leaving the store I was requested to allow my bags to be searched,I complied and was comforted by the fact they actually try to prevent theft to keep consumer costs lower.I was carrying several bags when entering and actually decided that this is how it should be,because I had branded items available in most stores. Then about a month later ,he pulled me again in an unorthodox style. When I was paying through self-service,he made his way to this area and stood at the alarm barrier, I knew what would take place next. I proceeded to exit, and low and behold he surreptitiously activated the alarm. He then asked to inspect my bags along with the manager,I complied and once again, nothing amiss. The final time was bank holiday on a Sunday or Monday. On this occasion I was with my wife, and I could see him looking from afar in the exit aisle,I said to my wife that we will be pulled,to which she said "what on earth do mean",I said let's leave. We tried to leave and once again,Search and all in order". No apology was offered at any of the incidents,I said to highway am I being targeted? He mumbled something and banned me for 3 years. Needless to say the unnecessarily lost custom. Harpurhey store.

I love their freshly baked breads and pastries. Lidl's croissants are the best.

Wow price of there own brand salted butter,! Well exceeded £2, that was one thing, very poor selection of food stuffs, and checkout staff on no 6 till sat tea , rude attitude.

It's Lidl, so a little expectation-management is in order. This is a large store with plenty of free parking and a good range of stock. The only small issue I have is that checkout queues can build up quickly and new lanes aren't always opened quickly. The staff are friendly and helpful and it's good to have this store locally.
