Came with a daughter and wanted to buy some beer for Christmas was asked for id and I showed it, although my daughter was asked to show it as well. So ridiculous. Ofc she doesn’t have it! I suggested that she could wait in a car and I will come back for beer although was told “no” because we have been seen together. Very disappointed
OUT OF DATE AND POOR SERVICE I’m very disappointed with my recent Waitrose order. I ordered jam, scones and cream — a simple combination — yet the scones were replaced with hot cross buns. This makes no sense as a substitution. I immediately called the store and was assured the hot cross buns would be removed from my order, but they still appeared on my receipt and were sent out anyway. It’s extremely frustrating to be told an issue is fixed only to find out nothing was done. This is not the level of service I expect from Waitrose. If I reject a substitution, it should be removed properly, and the items I actually ordered should be provided. Very poor experience. Also item is out of date on arrival!!!
The Cafe staff are lovely at Solihull Waitrose. Very friendly and welcoming, As are checkout staff and general advisors. I really appreciate the hospitality the Cafe staff in particular show when my mom visits on the Saturdays. Absolutely great customer service.
Great food. Famously pricier than other supermarket chains but not as expensive as everyone makes out, and you get what you pay for. In this particular branch, the gentleman on the self-service tills is very helpful and polite. A lot of offices nearby so I try not to visit during lunch hours.
Large spacious store. Plenty of free parking for 90mins, on 3 levels. The store never seems too busy, so you can browse with ease. Its location is easily accessible by foot from the town centre, but you don't have to go through the middle of town centre to access it. Reasonable size cafe and outside seating area
Lovely place to shop for organic food and Dutch organic grocery. Loved the atmosphere in waitrose and specially the milk we get here. If you are member you get free neuro coffee which is a bonus. We visit every week
Medium sized Waitrose, so doesn't stock full range of products. Friendly, helpful staff. Good wine deals, Celeste crianza half the price it costs in Spain where it's produced.
Food is always good hence four stars but the car park gets one star. I do wish they would resurface/ repair it. Negotiating all the potholes, raised drainage strips and rough surface with a trolley is so painful on my wrists and arthritis and is why I don't visit on a regular basis. It really is a nightmare surface and hasn't been maintained in years. I have sent many comments to management but never a reply - Do they not care?
One of the security guards was extremely aggressive and insulting towards me and my husband whilst we were doing our shopping for absolutely no reason, I tried to make a complaint about it and the store never bothered to get back to me despite telling me that they’d investigate the incident. The aggressive staff member is a short bald guy, when I confronted him about his behaviour he even admitted that it was an unacceptable way to speak to customers, but that he didn’t care. Guy is a liability and it’s shocking that Waitrose aren’t interested in giving this man some training in customer service.
