We have been shopping here more regularly this year as it has really helped us to reduce our waste during the bin strike! They have a really wide range of products and it actually feels fun to weigh your own stuff and have control over how much you want to buy. A few of our favourites are: the fig-scented Fill hand soap (it smells so good), eggs (locally sourced), ground ginger, hash browns and bake-at-home frozen chocolate cookies. Some things are a bit more expensive than in the supermarkets, but I was pleasantly surprised to find most products are quite affordable. The staff are also really friendly and chill, and will show you how to decant stuff if you need help. Overall a great little shop and it feels good to support a local business, and not have mountains of plastic packaging to throw away after shopping!

Nice little shop with a good selection of food to choose from. Really like the concept of this place and the frozen pastries/ cookies to bake at home are delicious as was the fresh carrot cake. We look forward to our next visit.

Disappointing first time at the CKB. Visited on a Saturday afternoon and the shop only had one other customer in. I filled up my containers and waited patiently at the till whilst the sole staff member was unloading and unboxing packages on the shop floor a couple of meters to my left. There was no acknowledgment from him (tall, around 30s) of my presence and I proceeded to patiently wait at the empty till for about 10mins. Normally I would have left but by the shops nature I couldn’t put the product back. Add to that the chewing gum they sell is overpriced and loses it’s flavour after a minute or two. I’ve visited other zero waste shops before and you pay a premium for the quality of goods and level of service, yet unfortunately it fell very short on this occasion.

Lovely little refill store in Bournville. Came to refill herbs and spices, great customer service and very good value. Range of fresh products (fruit, veg, bread) on sale too.

It is so nice to be able to return home and not have to fill my bin with pointless plastic. As an added bonus, the staff are friendly and helpful. I now do a substantial part of my weekly shop here, making use of the cycle stands on the opposite side of the road. Some items are rather pricey, but mostly I find the shop affordable.

A chilled out supermarket for the future! Plastic packaging free shopping. Measure out, weigh & price up your goods. Own receptacles can be used or paper bags provided. Don’t rush. Have a browse and see what’s available… dried, canned, frozen… all kinds of interesting things. Friendly staff will guide if required. Plenty of non-food too; homewares, eco-friendly ideas and gifts. Plus locally sourced baked goods, milk, butter & eggs!! A pleasant change to your regular supermarket shop.
